·1 year agoIt's been 2 days and you never came back and thanked us for saving you from a scam so a I take it you went ahead and emailed the redemption codes to that fake email address you received.

·1 year agoNo that is a liar and a thief out to steal your money. eBay NEVER assists in sales or payments of items on other sites. It has to be listed on eBay to be an eBay sale. There is NO other way. eBay will never tell you to buy or pay with gift cards. If you have already given them the numbers off the cards, you money is gone with no way to recover it.

If you found it on Facebook, Craigslist or anywhere that is NOT eBay then you are being scammed

Cease all communication with the "seller" immediately and report the ad on the site where you found it.
eBay does not store or deliver items for sellers. Also, nobody who is legitimately selling a vehicle is going to let potential buyers hold onto to said vehicle for a few days. The risks (accident, theft, etc.) are to high.

There is no truck.
The listing did not originate in Topeka Kansas
The seller is not an angry divorcee, a trooper stationed in Afghanistan, an oceanographer on the North Sea, a crippled veteran, or suffering from cancer of the ventricles.
You are communicating with a scammer in an internet cafe in Lagos or a boiler room in Minsk, who has placed similar ads in hundreds of publications hoping to hook a sucker.
Cease communication.
Contact the site you found the supposed "truck" on and report the scam. Those sites try just as hard as eBay and every other to rid themselves of these vermin.

You are dealing with a thief that's trying to steal gift cards.

·1 year agoeBay has absolutely ZERO to do with anything not found on their site. If you have not bought the cards don't. If you have given them the codes, your money is gone. Stop communication with them and report to the site you found the listing on.
eBay NEVER requires payment with cash cards.

·1 year agoHi @buckmas_16 . Someone is trying to scam you.
Anything advertised on Facebook or another marketplace that says eBay will handle the sale is a scam; eBay does not warehouse or ship vehicles. eBay transactions take place on eBay, not off site. There is no vehicle and the scammer is likely overseas. If you send them money or gift card codes there will be no way to retrieve those funds. When the price looks too good to be true, it usually is.

If you found the ad on a different marketplace, report the scammer to the appropriate marketplace (Craigslist, OfferUp, etc).

If they used a different email provider, report them to the appropriate company (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc).
