Can you show us the cost breakdown on the transaction you are referring to? Look like close to a 20% PL. Not sure of what the $375 is...a lot of sellers say/think what the buyer pays is what they sold it for. But we need to see the fee breakdown

They promoted your listing because you asked them to.
Fixed that for you.

Next time, do NOT use promoted listing - or lower the rate down to 2%

^^^ this ebay doesn't just take your money otherwise

one way to check is to "relist" as you scroll thru it will show the exact same settings as the previous item sold.

Not sure if it would be there. I think when he went to Promote it after he listed it he accidentally put in 30% instead of 3%. 40% instead over 4%. Something like that.

You have to double check before you click to list. I too have had extra cost features get selected when creating a listing. I suppose I could have moused over one? I don't know but I always check the listing before I submit it.
