How do you pay for listing fees and store subscription if no funds in account?
As long as I remember I've been paying for listing fees and the monthly store subscriptions through funds in my Ebay account that have not been transferred over to my bank yet. Does anyone know what would happen if there are no funds in my Ebay account and I try to list items or have the auto pay on my store subscription? Will the funds be taken directly out of my bank account or charged to my credit card on file?

·8 months agoYes it taken from your backup funding source. That can be a bank account or credit/debit card.

·8 months agoYou normally get a negative balance in 'available funds' forl ike 3 days if no 'processing funds'.
After 3 days you will get an email where eBay will deduct the amount due from your banking source...bank account collected to debit card...I think you also get a few days before that happens as well.
I'm sometimes in the negative with monthly fee if it's a Wednesday and eBay gives me my funds on Tuesday.

When you see the negative balance do you see any option to pay it off with a credit card?

·8 months agoMaybe...eBay takes it from banking account(debit card).
If you get an email for a payment(3rd day)...you can maybe use a credit card.
Otherwise, it's from your banking source

·8 months agoShould be prefered payment method BUT sneakily they may charge your credit card instead to see if its still valid and in good order, consider a test !

·8 months agoFees are taken out from the sale of your item. Yes funds will get taken out as many times. If you have issues with lack of funds in your Ebay account you may want to change your pay out time so that you will have fees covered without Ebay taking from your bank account. Another way is to start listing stuff as fixed price listings rather than auction listings. Auction listings can net you charges up front which fixed price listings you will have listings included. Now some auction listings are included with your subscription. I personally have done away with auctions and I know many others have as well.

It'll be from your account, marked 'Preferred for selling costs'. Tick this link. >> Payments

OP8 months agoI clicked on the link and it showed my bank account, and two credit cards. I list around 120 items at a time on the same day. If it's from my bank account will it bill me 120 times?

I found this, too. See if it is any help. >> Setting up and changing your payment method for fees and selling costs | eBay
ETA: I think the kicker is which account you have marked as 'Preferred for selling costs'.

OP8 months agoI clicked on the link however I could not find any area that says what method will be used for selling fees. Do you know where to look?

I'm befuzzled. The link posted in #3 should show you which account is marked 'Preferred for selling costs'. Yours doesn't? 🤔

There should be NO listing fees.
Sellers can have up to 250 FREE listings without a Store.
Sellers who have a Store subscription can list 1000 items * at no further charge.
The Store subscription is charged once an month.
In addition, eBay often gives FREE promotional listings. On one of my more active accounts, I get 10,000 FREE listings every month.
If you are selling, your fees are calculated and charged weekly (by default). You can choose daily or monthly processing.
If you are selling 120 items a day, and use weekly processing, you would have ONE invoice for840 transactions.
*Or more depending on type of Store they choose.

OP8 months agoMy listing fees and subscription fees are deducted at the same time they are used. I list around 120 items every week. And most of the listings are in two categories and I use the UK option listing which gives you another charge.
