Greed
I think ebay is dipping to deep into sellers pockets. Making money off each transaction is stealing and getting away with it. They added taxes which made it even worse. A man cant make a dollar without corporate or the government stealing everything we earn. People can barely get by today with 2 working family members. And yet ebay gets richer and we get poorer. Shame on you ebay.

·2 years agoIf you are selling an item you are making money....just like a retail store is selling and making money.
There is tax on selling an item in a retail store...just like there is tax on selling an item on eBay.
There is no greed.
The greed is one wanting to keep all the money they make selling an item on eBay for free.

So you are not making money off your sold items? If you are, shame on you! LOL...
Do what many sellers do, incorporate selling fees into the cost of your item then it would be your buyers paying the fees not you.

eBay is very transparent about what is charged per transaction, there are selling fee policies in place, it is the sellers fault for not reading it.
As for taxes, eBay is mandated by law to add sales tax appropriate to the buyers state to every transaction unless the buyers state has no sales tax or the buyer is tax exempt.
When a listing is created there is a link just above the List It button it says "a final value fee" applies when your item sells. I guess you either ignored it or didn't see it, but it is there.
Listing your items is free for up to 250 listings, making a sale is not free.

·2 years agoMaking money off each transaction is stealing? As a seller, didn't you enter into selling here to make money off each transaction? So it's stealing when eBay does it, but not when you do it?
You probably meant to say that you feel eBay is making too much money off your sales.
All I can say is: all the information about eBay fees is contained in the seller information which every seller can and should read BEFORE he begins selling here. Not sure what you feel reasonable fees should be, but, again, the fees are not kept secret.

eBay is collecting state taxes from buyers as required by LAW. They did not just randomly add state taxes.
