Gift card no good
So i got a 200 dollar ebay card.
Half of which i used.
I got offers and i'm willing to pay. Only problem is that my card with $107 dollars is no good.
It's been three days since i last tried and it gives me some excuse
"Looks like you've used a lot of gift cards lately. You can redeem more gift cards in a couple days."
Don't give me that. Don't give me that.
I'm worried If i get another ebay card with any amount on it it'll say the same **bleep**.
I need answers to solve this problem.

·2 years agoYour bank should have sent you a new card well in advance of the other card expiring.

Tick this link and scroll down to #5 under 'Restrictions'. It's set in stone. Sorry...

OP2 years agoWell **bleep**.. And i can't cancel the orders cause it's too late.
Guess i'll have to find another way or ignore them.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoYOU can't cancel because sellers have to cancel at your request.
Ask the sellers to please cancel.

OP2 years agoNah i'll just wait.
eBay is going downhill.
Even when i do finally figure it out i'll probably go to amazon.
Amazon doesn't trick out their customers.

Well, dang. I would still recommend that you reach out to those seller(s), in case you may still want to shop here someday. The reason being that if you get a couple of UI strikes, you're hindered from buying from lots of sellers for a whole year.
Afterthought... if I was your seller and heard of your honest gift card 'snafu', I'd cancel for you. Hang in there...

OP2 years agoI'll just call my bank and say a few words about my card not working and maybe make a deposit and fix this all out. Cause i do not want to be blocked from buying (which is freedom rights)
I'll ask them to cancel my orders but i will figure this out.
In the meantime..

·2 years agoYep and possibly rack up UPI strikes and be banned from buying from most sellers.

OP2 years agoUPI strikes happen within 4 calender days.
I'm gonna try again in a hour and see if my card will now work.
Since there's money on it. (more than enough for my items)

·2 years agoI was meaning to reply when you said you were just going to forget about it. And I know about the 4 day limit, I am a seller on another ID with many thousand transactions.

OP2 years agoI just now bought my items with my debit card. Turns out it expired 3 days ago
I'll wait a month to use my gift card

What in the world does that mean?

OP2 years agoIt means don't give me that **bleep**.

·2 years agoThanks for the clarification. So what "bleep" would that be and whom are you addressing?
penny_sioux
·2 years agowhat exactly were you hoping an ebay community that doesn't work for ebay to do for you?

That is not indicating that your gift card is no good. That is indicating that you have reached a limit to the number of gift cards you can use or the amount of gift card spending you can do in a day or in a month.
In the US, I believe the limit is typically $1000 per day or $1500 per calendar month. Up to four gift cards can be used per transaction, less any other coupons or codes.
I'm worried If i get another ebay card with any amount on it it'll say the same
Yes, that is likely the case until you are no longer at that limit.

OP2 years agoSo how can i remove this limit?
I accidently accepted offers.
mtgraves7984
·2 years ago@xtreme95-0
I don't think there's a way for you to remove the limit. Can you pay for the accepted offers using another method? If not, maybe contact your seller(s) and ask that they cancel your order(s)?
The first suggestion is optimal, of course... the second might keep you from getting Unpaid Item strikes.

OP2 years ago"Can you pay for the accepted offers using another method?"
No.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoWhy not? How are you buying the gift cards in the first place? Why not just put that payment method toward your purchase?
xtreme95-0
OP2 years agoI use cash at stores to get gift cards.
Even if i could use my debit card. No matter how much is in it.
It still declines it.
eburtonlab
·2 years agoSo how can i remove this limit?
You cannot, except by waiting. It is simply part of how gift cards are designed to work on eBay.

OP2 years agoI'll try again in a week.

·2 years agoHow does one accept an offer by accident?

OP2 years agoBy thinking their gift card still works. But then runs into this problem.

·2 years agoIs there not a phone # on the back of the card that you can call and check on this?
Or an internet site where you can check the card balance?

OP2 years agoTried it on the mobile app. Same **bleep**.
And i'm not going to even attempt to call them because Auto messages by robots.
