funds released 3 days after delivery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been a member for over 20 years, the need for greed on eBays part is unprecedented. I have now received notification that my funds will not be eligible for receipt until 3 days after the product is delivered, guess what it is not going to happen, if my funds are not my funds then my merchandise has not been paid for. eBay is only looking at making more money by placing all of these funds that are putting on hold in overnight bank deposits and keeping all of the proceeds for them selves, greed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing more nothing less. My store will close by the end of the month and my business will go elsewhere.

·4 months agoHi I was just on the phone with eBay, they are holding over $1000 of my sales, I was told that from now on al sellers will be effected by the 3 days hold, I just saw today that they released one payment from April 11 (sale was 11 days ago ) im in NY buyer in CA, shipping was 5 days and extra 3 days of holding its 8 days not sure why they hold the money for an extra 3 days, Its effecting my business, I can purchase an inventory since they are holding my payments, I started to move my business to other websites .
Lately I get many return as changed my mind, which cost me a lot since I pay for the return shipping. Not sure what eBay is trying to do but its not friendly any more for small sellers

·4 months agoThe holds do not apply to all sellers, but the policies that determine when they are put in place do apply to all sellers.
Why would the hold affect you purchasing inventory? You aren’t purchasing items after you sell them, right?

Money 'coming in' on the books for a business is just typical 'business as usual'.
After all, what if it didn't sell in the first place? Then you are STILL out that $6000 WAITING for it to sell.
It's not like you needed the $6k to 'buy that coin' first before shipping it out.
Absolute ridiculous business acumen.

Have you checked ebay's payment hold policy? In it some of the reasons a hold may be placed on Payments are; A sudden increase or changes in a seller's activity along with Items listed in a high risk category.
Yes you have been a long time seller, but from what I can see most of your transactions are for items selling for $500 or less, with a few selling for over $1K here and there. However, very recently you've sold 3 items for $2,500 and a couple more for more than double that amount. That is a sudden increase in your activity. Once those items have been delivered and if no disputes are filed, hopefully receiving positive feedback, you'll be able to continue listing those high value items with out a hold being placed on the payments. Unless you suddenly start selling $10k+ items.
Not only does ebay want to protect buyers, but sellers as well. There have been very active sellers in the past who have had their accounts hacked and items listed on them, they did not post that were bought and buyer's scammed. Then those sellers had to fight an uphill battle to get their accounts restored.

·4 months agoI always find it intriguing when people make use of a site like eBay in order to make money and yet find it offensive that the site is taking steps to make or avoid losing money.

·4 months agoFrom the time eBay receives payment, to the time they release funds to you, the proceeds are kept in escrow. eBay doesn't make a dime holding your money. Federal law.

·4 months agoOnly you can decide what's best for your business. If you think ebay is unfair then vote with your feet. No need to throw a tantrum.
For what it's worth, I've been selling for almost 27 years and I had to deal with the same holds. They were removed after 6 to 8 weeks. Still a better deal than Amazon any way you slice it. But you do you.

·4 months agoYeah Ebay is doing the same to me. For me it doesn't matter the value of the item, what it is, or where its going but Ebay holds ALL payments until they feel like letting you have your money. Would you enjoy selling something that you have to hand over the buyer right away, but you won't see any of the earnings from that sale for weeks to a month?? Basically, the exact opposite of a layaway program. I've been on ebay for 17 years without a single bad review or problem but all of a sudden I am a high risk seller and that I'm going to rip everyone off and run with the money. They tell me its standard protocol now that all sellers have to wait 7 business days + 24 hours from date of delivery and if there's no tracking number it's 31 days from date of sale BUT then Ebay's own policy and even here in the community says unless your selling account has bad history and cases of problems ALL payouts should be available 48 hours after the buyer pays for the item. Guess what though, this all started from using a ebay shipping label that didn't update the tracking information correctly so the ebay system thought the buyer never received their item regardless that it had already been delivered, buyer inspected and confirmed satisfied AND had even already left positive feedback. Theres no accountability or consistency with ebay and there's nothing we individuals can do about it and they know it.

·4 months agoOf course eBay is going to make sure an item that sold for $7785.00+ got delivered to the buyer before getting paid.
It wasn't for every item...like anything under $100. or so.
'business will go elsewhere'....maybe take those high end items you are selling and see where you can sell them elsewhere is the answer. Not sure there are many places to sell them at a reasonable price.

·4 months agoThere is an overall trend on internet marketplaces toward increased holds.
Amazon recently put DD+7 holds on many of its successful sellers.

·4 months agoFrom the FB you've received, it seems like you have had a very successful career here.
Not sure if this is the reason for the hold, but, if you're an infrequent seller, suddenly sell a high value item as compared to your usual sales pattern, or haven't sold for 90 days, eBay does hold your funds. I think that's detailed somewhere in the information about payment that eBay offers sellers.
Overnight bank deposits? A company as large as this most likely handles all payments and other financial transactions on line, wouldn't you think?
However, if you find this unacceptable, best of luck at the next venue.
