FUNDS ON HOLD Until 2 days AFTER DELIVERY CONFIRMATION! WHY? Ebay CAN'T ANSWER WHY!!!
Summary: wehavethestars expressed frustration over funds being held by a platform due to 'suspicious activity' with no clear explanation or resolution after several calls. albertabrightalberta pointed out that the terms of service allow such holds, noting that the funds are delayed by two days after delivery confirmation. blackpanthersportscardsandtcg disagreed, suggesting it might be a strategy to profit from held funds, while shire123 argued it is a protective measure. The discussion involves differing opinions on the platform's transparency and motives.
I received an email from Ebay stating that they saw "suspicious activity" on my account and are now HOLDING funds until 2 days after delivery confirmation. I called Ebay 4 times and got the runaround. I finally called the 5th time and got NOWHERE! They told me that they couldn't see WHY this was happening to my account...there's no way to APPEAL it...they couldn't answer when it was going to be lifted either! NO ANSWERS! NONE! My account is in excellent standing. I've sold on ebay for 25 years, have 100% positive feedback, have no returns, all...everything that they list as being a possible cause do NOT apply to my account.
Don't you think that if a company is going to do such action...can AT LEAST explain the reason so that I can comply and correct. NO! NOTHING!

They did give you the reason: they saw "suspicious activity"
Whatever they saw, they've decided to exercise their option to hold funds a bit longer than they may have done in the past.
Do you understand that the TOS allow them to hold for up to 30 days? At least in your case they're only doing it for 2 days after delivery.
They probably don't get too specific about holds because they don't want sellers to list in ways that circumvent whatever that red flag was that they saw.
You will get your funds; you just have to wait 2 extra days.

·6 days agoI disagree completely. If eBay says there is suspicious activity, tell me! I want to fix it. And its not a hold for 2 days. Its a hold for 2 days after delivery. Alaska, Hawaii you'll see your money in 30 days. California form FL a week and a half. The only suspicious thing here is all the sellers complaining about the same thing. Seems like a scam to me.

·6 days agoeBay is using Ai as an excuse to hold millions of dollars in funds with no explanation. Do you know how much money eBay can make off investing held funds? A lot. If it was not a scam, they can tell us what was suspicious. As soon as you ask questions they tell you "That is much as I can tell you at this time" "We have no timeline for when your funds will be unheld"
That is not a scam to you?

·6 days agoThey have given you a vague reason. Suspicious activity. They are not claiming wrong doing. They are just protecting buyers and sellers so that if the transaction goes sideways there will be funds available to make things right.
If you are so sure there is "scamming" going on here, then you have the choice of going elsewhere to sell. No one is forcing you to use ebay and their policies.

OP6 days agoI thought the hold was just going to be 30 days...now it has extended further and they are still holding funds. There has been NO SUSPICIOUS activity. All of my buyers are getting their items and there has no delivery issues. I still am unaware of anything wrong. The main issue here now is that Ebay does not give me SPECIFICS! Get it....SPECIFICS! on what is going on. I am a senior and this is my sole source of income. I need my funds.
