Exchanging emails after transaction
I am wondering if it's okay to exchange emails with a seller after a transaction/purchase.
The reason why is that I had a problem with an order. There were delays and issues with the USPS tracking number for about a week. I made a request to the seller and he told me he sent the item to USPS. However the tracking # was stuck on "USPS is waiting for item" status for a long time (about a few weeks).
Eventually Ebay refunded the money to me. However there was finally an update to the tracking # and the item eventually got to me in good condition.
I would like to give the money Ebay refunded back to the seller via Paypal but since the request case is close there's not much I can do throught Ebay. I also noticed that both Ebay and Paypal have made it more difficult for sellers and buyers to see each other's emails. In the Ebay TOS buyers and sellers are not allowed to exchange email addresses before a transaction.
Has anyone exchanged emails with a seller or buyer through the Ebay message system after a transaction without any issues?
I'm also thinking of sending a money order to the Seller's address on the package (after confirming with him).

·2 years agoYou can communicate with a seller before or after a sale, you just can't communicate about selling something off eBay (taking the sale away from eBay). EBay wants their "cut".
I think that is honorable to want to reimburse the seller since you received the item. Look for the link on the sold listing to "contact seller", then communicate through eBay to reimburse him. Thanks for your honesty.
