Ebay Took Gift Card Balance Wont release it
I Recently gave my father a ebay e-gift card to use on ebay that I received from a site called PRIZEOUT.
My father loaded the gift card to his account.
1 day later ebay took the funds claiming fraud prevention measures.
My father contacted Ebay who told him to prove he owned it by holding up his ebay username over the email of receipt of the gift card. Which we gladly provided.
They are now saying because my email address which received the gift card doesn't match his ebay account email address that they cant help him and have placed this money on permanent freeze. They said I would need to contact them using a ebay account with the same email address as the one who received the prizeout gift card!
This doesn't even make sense I gave it to my father as a gift and secondly I don't even have a ebay account on that gmail address lol I use a separate email address for my main ebay account because it is a business account.
Does Ebay really think people don't have multiple email addresses or that they can steal gifts that are given between family members?
I have tried contacting Ebay Support and Fraud Department over 6 times since this incident happened and the best I have gotten is "they will open a internal ticket".
Honestly we feel like Ebay has stolen from our family over this $200.

I wanted to suggest reaching out to Prizeout, but I couldn't find a phone number on their website.
Prizeout is the issuer and might have more details.
It's quite possible there was a fraud flag on the transaction when you gifted it to your father, and the email information didn't match up.
There's a lot of information on the link above that could be helpful.
