eBay Shipping Calculation Issue

Back in July, I ran into an issue where the shipping charges eBay calculated for one of my buyers was lower than the actual charge. I double checked with Pirate Ship to verify the charges were, in reality, higher than what eBay calculated. I chose to buy my label through eBay based on their calculations. The actual deminsions and weight of the packaged I shipped, were less than what I had in my listing. A few weeks later, eBay charged my account because the USPS stated the shipping was undercharged. I called into support and was told my the CSR they would refund the charges. I had a sale this morning, and once again, the shipping fee they calculated was again short. I again contacted support and the CSR, Wally, confirmed they had a ticket upon internally on the issue. He stated they couldn't advise when the issue would be resolved and thus the credit to my account couldn't be made.

I asked if eBay was advising I cancel the order, refund they buyer, and explain to the buyer the eBay shipping isssue. He became quite irritated that I would share this issue with the buyer. When I pushed back about what was the solution, he stated I should buy the postage outside of eBay and pay what they charged.

I moved and took a new job, at the beginning of 2026, so I hadn't managed to get my store listings back up to theprevious levels. I was building up to start back in at the beginning of September. Now that I have confirmed eBay has a huge issue and does not seem interesting in correcting it or addressing the theft from sellers, I have decided to shut down my email store. I unlisted all my items today, will wait for they payout to become available tomorrow, before closing my account.

eBay has become too much of a bully and not worth the headache of something that was supposed to be a fun side hobby.
