eBay payouts on hold and then account restricted once I resolved the original request
Hello, to preface this, I am a new seller who started in Nov of 2025, but sold a little under 1000 items in the few months I was on the platform. For a short period of time, there were delays shipping out orders (during one week, all orders were delayed by 1-3 days, and I later adjusted my handling times to reflect the influx of orders). Later on, many other orders were delayed due to USPS just being super slow, including during the winter storm. I advertised ground advantage but shipped most packages with priority mail, but they were still arriving after the estimated delivery days, many orders were coming weeks late, one even 3 weeks late... Due to these delays, a good number of people started opening item not received cases even though the items were in transit, just delayed.
Around Jan 9th of this year, my payouts were put on hold (I was still allowed to sell and continued to sell), and they said I had to resolve any outstanding items, not received cases. Every single item ended up delivering and cases were closed. Then, on Jan 28th, they removed all my listings, and said to reinstate my payouts, I had to wait for every single order, including returns, including international orders, to deliver. On Feb 8th, every single order, case, return, etc. was delivered and resolved, so I contacted them to remove the restriction, and they permanently suspended my account, and my funds are on hold for 190 days even though they were already on hold for a month+ and every single order was delivered...
I had 2 INR cases now that show the tracking was delivered, one of which was an international order using eBay international service, and both cases were closed in the buyer's favor. I opened an appeal, provided the tracking info again, and they denied it because my account is suspended... In the other order, the buyer literally admitted they used the wrong address, and it was in fact delivered, but eBay still will not side with me because my account is restricted.
Through it all, eBay support is useless; they can't tell me why I was restricted. I assume it is because of the late shipments, but that really isn't my fault, except for the few orders that were caused by me. So now I have a little over $25,000 that has been on hold for a month already and will be on hold for another 190 days +...? I would love to sell on eBay, and I have a lot of inventory to sell, but I just don't understand why they treat their sellers this way. If anyone has any advice on what to do/who to reach out to, I would much appreciate it. Thank you!

·7 months agoIn just 4 months, you had a lot of unhappy customers.
Sorry, but you'll have to find another place to sell your items.

OP7 months agoBut the overall ratio of unhappy people to sales isn't that high, though, and every single issue was resolved. Most of the unhappy customers came from USPS breaking the item in transit which there isnt anything I can do. It is glass soda bottles being shipped that cause damage.

·7 months agoYou have a lot of complaints with late shipping. Ebay hates an unhappy customer who may never come back.

·7 months agoSo let me get this straight...you choose to sell glass soda bottles...and your attitdue when they break is bascailly people shouldn't order glass soda bottles that have to be shipped? That's what you are saying. Whether you like it or not, it is actually your responsibility to anything you decide to sell to your buyer without is getting lost or damaged. And yeah, you can pack better. That's a start.
I think you know exactly why you have been banned.
I hope you have those receipts. You'll need them if eBay reported you to LE.

·7 months ago@nexagoods2 You are mixing up handling delays with shipping delays. You have a responsibility to ship on-time. By your own admission you had a week where all orders were delayed by one to three days. How many orders are we talking about? 1? 5? 20? 100?
eBay is not obligated to tell you why they suspended your account. I agree though, all of those late shipments caught up with you. There could be more. I don't know. Your actions could have triggered some sort of fraud alert. At least one buyer I saw accused you of selling fake shoes.
The take away is that you are done on eBay if they have suspended you permanetly. There is no coming back from that, even if you make another account.
They treat sellers like you this way because they want a platform full of good sellers who make their buyers happy. I, for one, appreicate that. It sounds like to me you started off on the wrong foot, not sure what you were doing or the policies, and you got in over your head.
Don't make the same mistake on next platform you try.

Customer service is so important and you have a lot of unhappy customers. Your responsibility is to give your customer a good experience. That doesn’t appear to be the case.
What are you going to do to make this not happen in the future, if your account is reinstated. EBay is serious business, and if a seller is not doing what they say they will do..If you cannot ship as you say you will, then eBay may not be the place for you.

OP7 months agoI resolved any issue anyone ever brought up, messages were replied to within 1 day MAX usually within a few hours.

My point ..it isn’t about the messages..it is about your delayed shipping. Frankly had you shipped on time, most of them you would never have received.

·7 months agoIf I say you were doing 'drop shipping' you would probably say I wasn't or I have a factory with the items on hand which I am a partner with.
28 sodas sold of one item...
And just having a few cancellations or 'out of stock' as a reason is also the 'kiss of death' on eBay.
It takes about 6 months for eBay to identify this...You got it quicker I guess.
I don't think the account will go back to normal but I could be wrong...and you might not be able to open new accounts.

·7 months ago@12345jamesstamps I would bet donuts to dollars that selling 16 brand new Dewalt products caught somebody's attention as well
nexagoods2
OP7 months agoI am not sure what 16 dewalts has to do with this as I had multiple listings with multi qty sales, I had sodas with hundreds of sales on each. Everything was obtained legally and I have receipts if they would've asked me for it.
nexagoods2
OP7 months agoI was not dropshipping at all, I sold over 600 of those sodas and I packaged and shipped every single one. Everything I sold was sent from my address.

·7 months agoUnfortunately, you have a lot of very unhappy buyers, most due to your shipping times. I dont see that Ebay will reinstate you. But if you dont eventually get your funds, keep checking your states unclaimed property online, Ebay may send them there. Sorry.
