Ebay not returning final value fee
I listed an item that was stated "for parts" "not working. Buyer purchased the item and returned it saying item was not as described. Ebay does not let me report the buyer misusing the returns process because the link simply will not work when i try to click on it. I've tried of multiple browsers. Ebay also will not refund my final value fee or shipping costs that should have been charged to the buyer. I am out all this money bc of the buyer's abuse of the system. Ive called ebay 4 times in the last month and this is utterly ridiculous that I have zero help.

·8 months ago@catzskill one lesson we all learn here is there is no such thing as no returns, anybody can return anything.
doesn't matter what condition it was sold as, new, open box, used, for parts only.
some years ago, many actually you "could" dispute some return reasons but hasn't been that way in a long time. Ebay is buyer centric
you are however protected from fraud.
otherwise it can be written off on your taxes

Based on your description of the return, it sounds like the buyer opened a NAD (not as described) claim.
With a NAD claim, you have 2 options:
1. Accept the return, pay return shipping, issue full refund upon receipt of the return
2. Issue a full refund without requiring the buyer to return it.
If you do one of the above, you will get credit for the FVF.
If you don't do one of the above and ebay has to step in to issue the buyer's refund, you don't get the FVF back. It sounds like that's what happened.

·8 months ago@catzskill FYI...when listing items for parts/not working, you need to put in your description that the item does not work and you are selling it for parts.
I have no idea what these statements mean: "I was told parts only when receiving this return." and "I have owned three LS460 and accumulated parts over the years." 🤔
Also, why did you ship that Priority Mail???

·8 months agoIf you did not refund and Ebay had to step in, the FVF is not refunded.

·8 months agoDid you refund or make eBay do that? If the seller refunds they used to always refund the FVF.

·8 months agoHow did they abuse the system?
Ebay gives the buyer 3 days to return the item.
Your description didn't really say much about the item.

OP8 months agoYou're kidding right? Item was listed as "not working" and "for parts," buyer requesting returned saying item was "not working." That's abusing the return system.
I'm responsible for explaining why an item isnt working? It was a car amp, am i required to diagnose the exact reason why it wasnt working? Buyer f up if he didnt read, not my fault.
