Ebay holding my money hostage
As a mother who is currently selling items on ebay , it would be great if they would release my money. I sold some expensive items and have been told since 1 item was lost in mail by USPS that i can NOT get paid for the other 7 items i sold !!! My account has been put on hold unfairly!!I called USPS, emailed USPS, emailed the buyer, called the buyer , messaged the buyer via text and on ebay messager to confirm delivery and ultimately just refunded the money just so i can get access to funds made from the 7 other items i sold .anddddddddd.......still no MONEY!
I just want my money and i refunded 450 dollars just because ebay states they dont have confirmation of delivery of 1 ITEM. just so i can get paid for the other 7 items , i confirmed delivery of every item , provided tracking numbers for every item, and CONTACTED USPS ABOUT LOST PACKAGE, FILED A CLAIM,
I CANT AFFORD TO LOSE 450 DOLLARS, BUT I REFUNDED ITEMS JUST TO GET EBAY TO RELEASE THE OTHER 1800 I MADE ON OTHER ITEMS.
HAS ANYONE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS?
WHO CAN I TALK TO IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE QUICKLY

Why did you tell the buyer who left you a negative that "eBay said your account was hacked".
You didn't say anything in your post above about an account hacking. What occurred that even made you think your account was hacked and you contacted eBay to ask them about it? Did you actually contact eBay about this? Was your account actually hacked? I agree with the buyer; it does sound a bit shady.

·5 months agoI mean.... It would be great if they released everyone's money... regardless if they are a parent or not. Just because I don't have kids doesn't mean I don't have bills to pay.
But there are rules about holds for new members. You ought to familiarize yourself with them before you begin selling.
Also, please turn off caps lock. Thank you for your attention to this matter! 🙂

That one negative for canceling an item, and then re-listing it again, is not helping your account.
Perhaps eBay is not for you. . ..

·5 months ago"eBay typically places funds on hold for new or infrequent sellers, high-priced items, or to ensure safe delivery, lasting up to 30 days or until 1-7 days after delivery confirmation."
Did you not read up on payout holds before selling?
You just sold something without knowing how it works?

OP5 months agoI SPOKE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE ON PHONE AT LEAST 2 TIMES AS WELL AS USPS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT LEAST 3-4 TIMES.....STILL NO RESOLUTION...SIGH....I REALLY NEED MY MONEY!!!

It's a waste of your time to talk to customer service because they cannot release your money - as a new seller, you're subject to 30-day holds, and that's the case for every new (or returning after months away) seller. Continuing to badger the situation will make no difference, and refunding willy-nilly to somehow speed the process along hurts only yourself.

·5 months agoHave you placed your bank account number on your account so they can make payments to your bank? Also have you supplied them with your SS# for tax purposes? Both things have to be done before you will receive payments. And as stated, as a fairly new seller, there is a 30 day hold on payments.

OP5 months agoyes i did. I read ther payments policy and NOTHING states a 30 day hold is required for new sellers. Please correct me if im wrong, all the legal policies state you get paid 1-3 days after selling an item.

·5 months agoEBAY policy clearly states there is a 30 day hold for all new or infrequent sellers. There are also many other reasons why EBAY may put a hold on your money. Link to EBAY policy is below if you care to read it.

OP5 months agook i was looking in the wrong place for the information, thank you for that...however all had tracking numbers and all but 1 had confirmed delivery, so at most it states two weeks after the sell i should get paid....the 31 days applies to items without a tracking number. If i understand correctly...

·5 months agoAs far as the lost item, you need to file a claim with USPS. You can do that online at USPS.com. I would not try calling/ talking to anyone else, I'd just file the claim. If the tracking does not show delivered, you will be refunded.
Many packages come with up to $100 of insurance, and hopefully you added extra insurance to cover the $450.

·5 months agoDid you know that relatively new or infrequent sellers on eBay can have their funds held for up to 30 days? This also applies to sellers of high dollar items by a seller without much selling history?
This, I believe, is explained in the information for new sellers and this applies whether or not there's tracking proving delivery.
PS: That negative FB really hurt your FB score.

·5 months agoIf you look at the transaction hold section of eBay help pages, it tells a different story. New and infrequent sellers are told that they will get their funds released a couple of days after delivery confirmation, 31 days without (typically).

·5 months agoAgain, you are not reading the policy correctly:
"For certain high-priced items, funds from the order will typically be placed on hold for 31 days after the transaction date to give the buyer enough time to report any issues after they've received and inspected the item."
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=4816
It clear says 31 days, not "at most two weeks". That policy also has another section entitled "extended transaction holds" which says they may be even longer:
"If we have concerns about an order while it's on its way to the buyer, the funds may be unavailable for longer. Reasons could include discrepancies in tracking information, issues with a seller's account, or simply allowing extra time for the buyer to review their purchase."
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=4816
The policy says that eBay can give you a hold or an extended hold for pretty much any reason they want.
If you are expecting quick access to funds after you make an eBay sale, you need to adjust your expectations.

·5 months agoYou are likely to start seeing payments 30 days after the delivery of enough items to cover the holds.
You were never going to be paid until 30 days after delivery for any of the items you sold.
You and Ebay customer service did not understand how the new seller holds actually are implemented.

·5 months agoWell, I'm not a 100% sure but usually usps has like a $100 insurance in case it gets lost. as far as eBay though. I'm in the same boat of them holding my money. The thing with mine is that they won't tell me why its on hold or how to fix it.
Try and get in contact with a customer service agent and they can direct you from there. (I had to DEMAND the ai chat bot connect before it finally did. it was just going in circles before I said "demand" and it instantly put me on a call list.) I'm sorry, I wish I knew how to help you better but that's all i have.
