eBay has ruined the payment process for sellers and buyers.
It's no secret that ebay's new payment structure is bad for sellers, it is for buyers as well. No more combined shipping because if you win three auctions, you have to pay three separate shipping charges. I often ask for another shipping quote, especially on items being shipped from overseas.
The wrong person at ebay was given decision making power. An added bonus, on the eBay mobil page, it keeps making me (literally, it's mandatory) fill out some silly survey. Earlier, I went to bid on an item and the pop up came up and wouldn't go away. I have filled it out probably 10 times at this point.

·3 years agoThat is not true, I offer combined shipping. It’s up to the sellers whether or not to combine shipping, not eBay.
However, If you sell with internationally with EIS, then yes, there’s no combined shipping.
As for your issue with the app I don’t know anything about any pop up. I have the app, but I prefer to use the browser on my iPad instead.
ETA I just went into my eBay app, I didn’t see a survey.

OP3 years agoThat is incorrect, as of yesterday, when you win an auction, eBay processes the payment immediately. You don't have the ability to change the payment or arrange to purchase other items with combined shipping. I use three different payment methods depending on what the purchase goes towards (many are tax deductible) and now I am forced to change the default payment every single time before I bid/purchase an item, rather than choose post auction. The whole reason for this is centered on ebay getting & holding more money sooner. Even Amazon knows better to not do it this way. The process makes sellers want to buy less which will affect buyers even more.

·3 years agoSellers lost additional sales and just bids, because they didnt get a higher item price when you are going to get charged multiple shipping charges on small items. Then you would have to ask for a refund, not adjustment of shipping charges. Some sellers may not deal with that.
I'm limiting my purchases from sellers I frequent with combined shipping until this gets resolved.

·3 years agoIn your original post you made no mention of that, but sellers can either utilize the buyer requirements that requires buyers to provide a method of payment on auctions and Best offers or they can choose not to.
If you find you are seeing that when bidding or submitting a best offer you can simply ask the seller to put you on their exemption list, this way you won’t be required to provide you method of payment prior to bidding or making an offer. Some will comply with your request, some won’t.
This requirement was put into place by eBay to prevent nonpayment.

·3 years agoThis is NOT a workable policy. If you have to keep refunding it screws up your book keeping as the 1099K will show the Total amounts and you have to explain the screwy new policies especially on slide and negatives ..I give up on this platform .. PLEASE bring back the original ebay platform!!
There is NO option to opt out of this requirement.
PLUS EBAY back charges a percent on refunds! what a mess!!
