Ebay Employee Tried to lie to me and say the day was a holiday when in fact it was not
On May 1st Juan in the Selling Department told me that I was not receiving my payment because " today is a holiday" I was looking directly at my calendar and said to him "sir are you seriously trying to tell me that right now?" he said "yes it is a holiday, its memorial day" I said "I seriously cannot believe you are trying to lie to me right now". I told him that not even that Monday was a holiday and that gaslighting customers so that you do not have to give them their payments is insanity.
What do I do? I am not going to use the chat feature as it is useless and I really would like to speak to someone about this as it's totally inappropriate to lie to a customer about a holiday. Please advise as I am going to request the recorded phone call.

·5 months agoMay Day is a holiday in several countries. As an American, it's not surprising you were not aware of this.

OP5 months agoIt's not on our US calendar so it's not a bank holiday, which they were trying to say was the reason the money hadn't gone into my bank. The gentleman then tried to change the holiday to Monday, they were lying to their customers.

OP5 months agoYes the money was received, I'm more upset by the fact the employee lied about it being a bank holiday when it absolutely wasn't.

·5 months agoMay Day (May 1) is a holiday in some countries. Who knows where that customer service rep is located.
Why are you contacting a customer service rep about something he knows nothing about and has no control over?
Why didn't you call your bank to find out where the payment was?

OP5 months agoThey were holding an express payment so it was on them not the bank.

·5 months agoThe bank can delay the processing of an express payment. Anyone involved in the process can. Ebay, the bank, the ACH etc.

·5 months agoMore than a few people believe that some personnel in an organization act to protect their organization, some even by commiting intentional error.
Try speaking with a different representative.
