eBay allow Payoneer to kill my business!!
I am a seller from Hong Kong who has been doing business on eBay for nearly 20 years. I am a so-called top-rated seller, accumulating tens of thousands of positive feedback. eBay required (forced) me to process payouts through Payoneer, and without knowing anything about this company, I opened an account with Payoneer purely out of trust in eBay, allowing them to handle huge amount of my money. I can't remember how long this 'normal state' lasted, but it should have been several years. Payoneer never informed me of any issues with my account information, and I successfully withdrew funds from Payoneer to my bank account multiple times.
However, about two weeks ago, when I logged into my Payoneer account, I was told that my account had been closed! I tried to contact Payoneer and eBay, but no one could tell me what exactly was wrong with my account that led to its sudden closure. I still have tens of thousands of dollars in the account. As the owner of those funds, shouldn't I be entitled to know why my money is being locked?
Even more absurdly, because Payoneer closed my account, my business on eBay is also seriously affected. eBay won't allow me to continue doing business normally with my original eBay account! eBay said I have to open a new eBay account and link it to a new Payoneer account. How ridiculous is that! The Payoneer account is linked to my official business registration with the government and connected to my long-standing business bank account. In other words, because eBay chose a company, Payoneer, whose headquarters I don’t even know, and they closed my account, I am now forced to 1. register a new company with the government, 2. open a new bank account for the new company, and 3. start building a new shop from scratch on eBay, abandoning the shop that I've managed for 20 years with countless customers and a high reputation! This is truly unbelievable and outrageous!
I don’t know if sharing my experience here will attract eBay's attention, but I am extremely disappointed and angry with eBay, my long-term partner.

·2 years agoJust a thought.
So I blocked the country of China to sell to.
Lots of buyers wouldn't give me an address in English.
However, getting to the problem maybe eBay recognizes Hong Kong and Republic of China(Taiwan) not China.
To make a long story short I do get buyers from Hong Kong and Republic of China still but not People's Republic of China anymore.
Your eBay ID is Hong Kong but your shipping is from China.
It's more of a Hong Kong is a part of China now but not recognized by eBay yet.
It's a little complicated but I sell stamps and I wish eBay would correct countries that do periodically change status.

·2 years agoI know that usually eBay won't tell you the exact reason they close an account because they don't want you to correct the problem or figure out a workaround.
Not sure if Payoneer does the same thing.
Are your items suspicious? If you were suspected of selling items where the manufacturer didn't have a written licensing agreement from all those airlines then opening a new account to continue to sell the same items will cause your new account to be closed.

·2 years agoYou've got a lot of really unhappy buyers, maybe thats why Payoneer closed your account? Ebay does the same thing.

·2 years agoBingo.
I am elated that eBay is tightening up things for sellers.

·2 years agoDon't know why you're disappointed and angry at Ebay, they didn't close your Payoneer account.
If Payoneer closed your account, they probably won't let you open a new one.

·2 years agoI'm sorry to hear you're going through this.
As a seller located in the US I do not use Payoneer, but I can tell you this is something you need to resolve with Payoneer. If you can work with them to reinstate your account and recover your funds you may be able to continue using your established eBay account.
Why did you leave 10s of thousands of dollars sitting in a Payoneer instead of processing regular transfers to your bank?
You can find various outlets to contact Payoneer here: https://www.payoneer.com/customer-disclosures-and-complaints
Because the majority of responders on this forum do not use Payoneer, I suggest seeking out a local forum, perhaps a local social media group, where you can find other sellers in your region that do use Payoneer - they may be able to offer more specific advice. Good luck @johanchan2004 .

·2 years agoYour post won't attract eBay's attention, because this forum is a discussion board for eBay buyers and sellers.
eBay has no control over what Payoneer does so having your Payoneer account closed should be taken up with Payoneer.
And yes, if you wish to continue to sell you need to set up new accounts.
Your years on eBay, feedback percentage, and seller status is irrelevant. Sorry.
If I am incorrect someone will chime in.
