Changes to how you will get paid on eBay
I just received this email today.
We've detected unusual selling activity on your account. To maintain marketplace safety, funds earned from your sales will be available for payout within 3 days after delivery confirmation of the item. After we’ve seen ongoing confirmation of successful deliveries, you’ll start receiving your funds again 2 days after the buyer pays.
I have been a member since 2008 with 16,000+ feedback and they are going to tell me that they spotted unusual activity now? I have sold over $3million lifetime and have nearly perfect feedback. Unbelievable that they have the nerve to tell me that one large sale this month constitutes unusual activity when I have had month of sales in the past with 2x to 3x what I sold this month.
Does eBay not realize that they are usually a third or 4th choice option for large sellers and that we can take our business elsewhere? The representative I spoke with said that it is also a permanent change to the account, how is that even ethical? Is there any path to change this?

"I've been a member since 1852, sold $176 billion in 120,000 transactions! Ebay is breaking the law holding my funds!"
Yes it's happening to everyone. Not just you.
Something in the algorithm flags high risk accounts and if you're one of them, this is what happens.
In about 8-12 weeks the holds will be lifted assuming everything goes well with your sales.
It happened to me last summer, I lived, you'll live too.
If ebay is honestly your 3rd or 4th choice, then why are you wasting your time here? Vote with your bank account.

-So in all that time you don't have separate working capital set aside for such unexpected issues?
"Does eBay not realize that they are usually a third or 4th choice option for large sellers and that we can take our business elsewhere?"
-Same concern. A large seller with no working capital. Or is there some other reason not getting paid quickly seems so problematic?
-I don't sell on eBay but was self employed for years of my working life and having working capital set aside was something I learned the hard way early on. Do yourself a favor and start putting aside some from each sell so you'll have peace of mind when funds don't come in as expected.
As the Boy Scouts motto "Be Prepared" says. It will save you lots of stress in the future....................

A lot of sellers have been receiving that message/email.
