Buyer bank takes too long to response
Hi, I'm a seller.
A buyer opened a dispute through their bank on September 28, 2024 and some of my fund was held.
eBay said it usually took 6-8 weeks for the bank to response and reach the outcome, but now, it has been close to 4 months already.
The buyer also said their bank has closed the dispute already, but on eBay the case is remain stuck.
Does anybody know how long do seller have to wait before the dispute through bank is expired?

·1 year ago4 months seems abnormal, all you can really do is call and ask for a rep to look into it, but the bottom line is it will get sorted eventually. If you shipped the item on time to the address on file and provided tracking (shows delivered) and the item was in the condition described upon delivery. then you normally are covered because you did everything right. That benefit changes if you failed to do anything that was required on your end. Any other type of outcome is rare, but people sometimes do devious things it's just par for the course selling online or anywhere really, thankfully it's not a "trend".

·1 year agoIt's good to say all that but why would they get a chargeback if the seller ships and delivers on time to the address on file and it was in the condition described upon delivery? There would be no reason for a buyer to file chargeback.
We don't know the reason for the chargeback but generally the seller loses the item and the money in a chargeback, plus a $20 chargeback fee.
