Auto payments - paying postage twice
Hi all,
I'm extremely angry with Ebay with regards to auto payments being taken without my knowledge. I have recently bought two items from the same seller after having an offer excepted by the seller. The seller also agreed to combine postage so at the seller request I put in offers on both items as agreed to come to the price we agreed. However when I log back in to make payment I discover that both payments have been taken through 'Auto payment' along with two payments of postage. This means I have to recontact the seller and get him to refund me on one lot of postage as we had agreed on combined postage. What I'm angry about is the fact Ebay's auto payment system fails to take in to account prior communication between seller and buyer and actually by taking an auto payment has negatively interfered with the transaction between the buyer and the seller. As we know contacting Ebay to make a complaint is impossible and that's why they hide behind the so called 'community' so my only recourse is to hope the seller sticks to his words in combining postage and refunds me one lot of postage. But I will never ever ever use the 'make an offer' system again on anything if it means that auto payment kicks in, because Ebay are putting themselves in charge of my registered bank card.

·1 year agoOffers sent and accepted do not include ANY changes to 'shipping'. Each and every listing is separate when 'offered'.
They were 'supposed' to enable some type of 'combining' of shipping, if a seller has 'allow combined shipments' in their preferences.
Your seller probably does not have that set. Not a big deal, seller can simply refund you the overage.
As far as being 'auto payments'- sellers also have the ability to NOT enforce that, but again, your seller probably didn't know that (it is auto set ON, so seller must 'turn off').
