Attn sellers of large items
If you ship via freight and the buyer agrees to a delivery date but upon delivery of item decides they want a different day. Guess who has all the liability? The seller. We pay Ebay a huge fee for nothing. If the seller isn't ready to recieve the item then Ebay can hold your money because the buyer hasn't left positive feedback. I have to wait another 10 days to be paid. Because that's when the buyer wants an item which has nothing to do with me as I have already shipped the itemand paid for the freight. But because the buyer doesn't want to receive the item until next week and doesn't feel they should leave feedback because the item hasn't been "delivered" I'm out of luck. I BEGGED my buyer to give me feedback so my funds could be releases as it's already been a week since I sold the item and put time into arranging freight and shipping it.
I'm asking you why should I have to beg anyone when I paid Ebay $454 in fees to handle this sale?

You're a new seller and the item sold for more then $1000, so they will hold the funds for 30 days.

New sellers or sellers usually who haven't sold anything in 30 days...there is a hold on funds of seller for 30 days...even though you usually have to use your own money for shipping this item out...plus pay the eBay fee of selling it when due.
Item sold July 15th.....I am thinking more like August 16th is when those funds are released.
Object of selling is to sell every month whether it something for a buck or $1000. bucks.
Good luck.

OP2 years agoExcept all of the customer service reps said they would release the funds upon positive feedback. My point is ebay has no liability. So why pay them? They will not contact the buyer on your behalf. They will not help you in special cases like this. You can reach a large audience on Facebook marketplace and deal with none of this crap. But go ahead bot and spout about ebay's practical approach.

No, they won't contact the buyer, because there's nothing for them to do.
