Worth Declining a sale due to lack of confirmation of item purchased? | Part time sellers

Hello!I have been selling many e-bike batteries specifically designed for a particular brand/type bike. Although my listing clearly indicates the battery will only work for a certain type of bike... some people simply don't pay attention and order anyway. Once they receive it and it doesn't fit their needs they want a refund. Obviously this is not ideal as its not cheap and I pay for shipping there and back. One way around this i have found to be effective is to simply send a message asking the buyer to confirm that yes, they are indeed buying it for the specified bike in the listing. You would be surprised how many buyers attempt to buy this product for something else... they end up thanking me for sorting this out rather then going through the hassle of shipment. Unfortunately, I have a buyer (0 feedback, newbie?) who isn't responding to my messages asking to confirm. What is my best course of action? I almost guarentee if I send this out that it will come back. These are very expensive items not to mention im paying for shipping. Should I cancel the order? Will I automatically take a seller rating hit? There are only but a few options to cancel. Not "confirming" isn't one of them. Recommendations on how to proceed? Im trying to build my business here on eBay and my seller rating is very important to me but I really don't want to go thru the hassle because someone didn't pay attention. Thank you.
