Optimize Your Listings for Search (SEO)

Summary: The discussion on optimizing listings for search (SEO) initiated by ahtshamafzal appears to have contained no content, nor did the responses from other participants (grizzlyridgeco, jewal-9896, and sil_9163). It seems there was either an error in posting or the content was shared in a different format.

Optimize Your Listings for Search (SEO)

eBay uses a search algorithm (Cassini), so help it find and rank your items:

    • Use Relevant Keywords in the title (e.g., “Nike Air Max 270 Black Size 9 Men’s Running Shoes”).

    • Max Out Title Characters (80 max) with descriptive keywords.

    • Use Item Specifics (brand, size, color, condition, model).

    • Write Detailed Descriptions with formatting (bullet points, clear sections).

    • Use High-Quality Photos – show all angles, defects, tags, packaging.

    ⚙️ Tools & Platforms

    • Zik Analytics

    • Auto DS

    • DSM Tool

    • Illustrator  |  Photoshop | Canva  (for images)

    • eBay Seller Hub

    • Google Sheets.

Biggest thing that moved the needle for me was front-loading the title with the terms buyers actually type, brand plus item plus the key spec, and filling every item specific eBay offers even the optional ones. Cassini leans on those specifics hard for match relevance. I let the AI listing tool in 3Dsellers draft my titles and specifics now and then tweak, which beats staring at a blank field. Beyond that, good photos and a fair price keep you ranking once you're found.

Optimizing your listings for eBay SEO is all about helping Cassini clearly understand and rank your products—use strong, buyer-intent keywords in the title, max out all 80 characters, fill every item specific, add clean, well-structured descriptions, and upload sharp photos that show every detail, just like how netmirror breaks down visibility and performance data to help you spot what actually gets found and clicked, especially when paired with tools like Zik Analytics, AutoDS, DSM Tool, Seller Hub, and clean visuals made in netmirror Canva or Photoshop.

Thank you so much for posting this, I definitely needed some insight on SEO. I feel like I am doing everything correctly but struggle with sales if I do not promote each listing.

Getting your items seen is the hardest part. Too many people all selling the same thing. One is to make sure you use the SEO. Promoting them helps, but be sure to do your research on the item. If, when listing, eBay doesn't offer a pricing suggestion, that means the item has not sold in the last three months. That means a future sale is not in your immediate future. It could also mean your item is incredibly rare, but that is an exception. Be sure to check the sold items to see what they have actually been selling for, as opposed to either eBay's suggested price or what sellers are asking. Many sellers ask for ridiculously high prices. Many will put up prices that are the same as other sellers similar or identical items. I see this quite often, even the item has not sold in the last three months. If your item isn't rare, and it hasn't sold for the last three months, you have to wonder if it's worth your time and energy to list it all. Also, be sure to check prices on every item you list. eBay's suggested prices are often wrong, and not just by a little. The suggested prices are often based on auction prices which can be much higher or lower than Buy it Now prices. Do your due diligence. And yes, if promotions help, keep doing it. You are in competition with a whole lot of people and you need an edge. Also, some other social sites allow you to post eBay listings on their sites. So you can offer your items to a larger group of people. I am not sure if this costs, or if the sites just get a cut of the sale, but is is a way to increase how many people see your items.
