I hope someone can understand what I'm saying here and come up with a fix. I am about to drop several items I sell on here because it's causing me to many headaches. Ok, we all know there are items sold on here that other people sell as well. That's a given. I'll try to make it simple. Example: I can sell my item for $5 + $6 USPS Groundsaver and make $2 after everything is paid, cost+Ebay fees,Shipping Cost. The Issue it won't sell because no one will buy my item because it's $11 with "Free Shipping" Let's be real, I can't sell my $5 item, pay fees and $6 shipping because I will lose money... Here's what I am forced to do because my competition does it. The "Ebay Envelope" option, this is an available option for the item I sell, so everyone uses it to get the prices down. Now I have to sell my $5 item for $5 + $0.74 (currently) "Free Shipping". I have to use this option in order to be competitive or I get no sales. So what's the issue??? Well this option takes USPS 7-10 days on average, sometimes longer to deliver the item. I have people open return requests because the item hasn't made it yet. More than once the item has arrived after the refund was issued and I suspect some people don't report when they received it after the refund has been issued. The ebay envelope shipping option has caused so many headaches because it sucks. It shouldn't be available as an option for anything more than a piece of paper. At the $0.74 stamp rate, USPS has told me anything in the envelope needs to only be paper because it will get destroyed when it goes through their sorting machines. that's one reason they don't make it sometimes. You can bypass this option but you have to pay extra for it, again this deletes all profit. Ebay Envelope option, doesn't even need to be available for certain Items across the board. It is causing both buyers and seller issues and frustration. Again, I only use it because profit margins are so slim, it's the only way to be competitive with other sellers. My best option at this point is pretty much to stop selling these items on ebay.
