Cannot using Order API in Ebay Developer
Hi everyone,
I'm currently integrated with the eBay Order API, but I've hit a roadblock. Every time I attempt to call the initiateCheckoutSession endpoint, I receive the following error message:
"Insufficient permissions to fulfill the request."
Questions:
Is there a specific business review form I need to submit for this specific API?
Has anyone else encountered this while using a third-party API key or an app bought for development?
What is the typical turnaround time for eBay to grant these restricted permissions?
I would really appreciate any guidance or links to the specific application forms if required.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @sonid-89,
Thank you for your post!
We wanted to inform you that the error message you are receiving is expected because the Order API is a restricted API, and you may need access to the https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/buy.order scope to use it.
To gain access to the https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/buy.order scope, you have to file an Application Growth Check request: https://developer.ebay.com/grow/application-growth-check, this is a free service that the eBay Developers Program provides to its members. During the Application Growth Check process, we critically review all new applications for compliance with the Application Growth Check requirements, at no cost to you.
Please follow the instructions below to locate the appropriate form for submitting an Application Growth Check request:
1. Visit https://developer.ebay.com/my/support/tickets?tab=app-check
2. Log in with your eBay Developer Program account information.
3. Fill out the questions asked in the form. We will then be able to process your request.
Best Regards,
eBay Developer Support
