What to do about a Buyers Request
I have an item listed as new and have pictures showing the condition of the box from all angles. A potential buyer is asking questions about the item that I would have to cut the manufacturers tape, open the box, and unpack the item to answer. Me being fairly new to selling on eBay want to make sure I handle this correctly. I am curious how it will affect my listing to answer his questions. Looking for advice please.

·2 years agoYeah, I would not open it. Another buyer will come along. Your items are those that people actually need for something, so someone will want one.

Maybe you can find a stock image of the item and be able to answer their questions.

OP2 years agoY’all have confirmed my thoughts on the matter. With me being new to eBay selling I just wanted to make sure I stayed within the parameters of this new world I have stepped into.

·2 years agoNo, you do not open a taped package to look inside the item. I presume that this is a new, unused in sealed box. That is what you are selling. Once you open it, you have changed the condition of the item and that is not to your advantage. As for answering question, by all means do the best you can. However, keep in mind that sometimes buyer ask some far-out questions that you might not be able to answer. Sometimes is best to pass on them due to potential problems.

·2 years agoI would block that buyer. They are trying to take advantage of you. As soon as you open that item it is no longer new.
