What’s prohibited?
I’m a new seller with a new store. I don’t want to get in trouble for selling anything prohibited, and these are the things in question:
1) Eyeglasses with the lens still in them
2) Why is the word “Velcro†prohibited?
3) I understand ivory is prohibited, but is elephant leather ok? Snake, alligator and eel skins are OK so I assume elephant skin is. I have an elephant leather belt.
4) What else that I should know about?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Actually, the policy prohibiting prescription items is worded so that it applies to:
Lenses for eyeglasses don't come under any of those categories, and glasses and lenses are not mentioned at all.

I have never heard of prescription eyeglasses being restricted or prohibited. I have purchased several pairs of OOP glasses frames, and just had the lenses replaced with my own prescription.
It is eBay's interpretation of the rules that matters. If eBay does not enforce this policy for eye glass frames with prescription lenses, then I don't see any reason to avoid selling them, or to advise anyone else to do so.

OP2 years agoThank you for the clarification. I have two expensive frames that were my own old eyeglasses and wanted to be able to sell them. Thanks again.

Eye glasses with lens in them require a prescription. Unless they are reading glasses.
If I’m incorrect someone will let us know

·2 years agoYou can't sell items from endangered or threatened species. Elephants are endangered.
VELCRO is a named brand for hook and loop or touch fasteners. It has to be made by the VELCRO CO. If you use the word VELCRO.
I don't know about Eyewear.
