Tips for starting a business on eBay

I created an account to selling on ebay. Please advise what I should do before selling. I would like to deal with the ebay community accurately and reliably. I appreciate your support and your valuable time for this.

You need a business license.

You need to link a Payoneer account to your eBay account. The type of Payoneer account has to match the type of eBay account you have.

Payoneer lets you know right away if you successfully linked to eBay.

Then it takes eBay 2-4 weeks to activate your account for selling. They'll send you an email when you're all set.

-Follow the advice of @ckimodog , @janet9988 and @pennysdream

-You are in Sri lanka, buy ALL the items you plan to sell and have them in your possession ... DO NOT DROP SHIP

-Buy the following:

A. An accurate scale for weighing your items

B. Packing materials like boxes, tape, printer for labels, paper for the printer, scissors

C. Shelving racks, trays, etc. to organize your inventory

D. Computer to run your business, don't rely on a smart phone, the phone app has some limitations in certain areas so you will be better off using a computer or laptop

E. White foam panels or some white painted thin plywood to use as background for the picture of your items, Google image search works best with items on a plain white background

F. A small work table at least 30" x 48" ... larger is better but not sure how much space you have available

Register in Sri Lanka as a business
Get a Payoneer account.
Sign up for Managed Payments and attach your Payoneer account so you can be paid.
It'll take a few weeks to get everything approved.

Have you signed on with Payoneer so that you can be paid? Did you retain a business license and register your account with your country as a business? You just signed on to Ebay yesterday, so my guess is that you haven't.

You just don't make an account on Ebay and then try to start selling. There are requirements and protocols for all would be new sellers. This is what you need to do. Once Payoneer approves your application, you will have to wait until Ebay approves you and that can take up to 30 days. DO NOT try to sell anything until you hear from Ebay. If you do, you could jeopardize your account.

After you have read up on policies, rules, what you can and cannot sell on ebay, you might consider signing up for the Ebay Academy. There you can learn to be a proper and trusted seller:
