Taxes on my eBay sales
So excited to see that eBay reminded me to start paying taxes on my puny little random sales. I'm glad to contribute even more than I do, because I don't yet pay my fair share on everything in my life! 🙄
Yes, please take more from me to pay for all the free stuff we hand out and waste on stupid crap. And of course, here in Taxifornia...it gets exponentially worse. 😠Free medical care for illegals?? SURE, WHY NOT?
Probably gonna rethink my newfound practice of selling on eBay. Of COURSE I will continue to pay my taxes on everything I buy, sell, own or earn. I guess I should be thankful they let me keep any of it...

Unless you are buying product to resell, or selling off long term investments (art, books, sculptures, etc....) that have increased in value exponentially from your 'cost basis' over the years, there should be virtually no taxable income on your sales...
and even if you do have these investments, you get a decent tax break filing the right forms.
If there is, you need a new accountant or some creative thinking (within legal limits of course) to reduce those taxable numbers. The methods are there, you just need to implement them.

·2 years agoI think you are barking up the wrong tree. This is not eBay's doing. Whether or not eBay must report income, and whether or not you must pay taxes, is based on what the lawmakers have put in place. Send letters to your state and federal representatives.
