Store Name availability after closing and reopening store
Can anyone tell me if you close a ebay store and want to reopen. Can you still use the same name of store or would i need to create a new store name. I tried inputting the old store name to renew subscription and it tells me that name is already taken. Can someone assist me on how to resolve this issue

How long ago did you end your store subscription? Did someone else take the name since then?

OP9 months agoNo one has it but I cancelled end of 11/25 and I was told that it would be officially close on 1/1/26 . After researching, it seem as if I have to create a new store with a new name but I also had 6 items in the previous store and I am not sure what happened to those listing and if ibring those listings under the new named store how do u erased those listings from the old name. Do you know if eBay have a support number I can call and talk to someone… thank you for your response

·9 months agoEnding a store subscription has no direct effect on your current active listings, which I see here:

If you subscribe to a store again under any store name in this eBay account, your current active listings will appear in that store.
See if you can tell if someone else has used your store name:

If not, you may want to keep trying to subscribe to a store under your old name when it becomes available again.
I have heard (but cannot confirm) that ending a store subscription may result in a period (30 days?) where the name is not available. Not sure exactly how eBay calculates that, exactly. Thirty days from the store subscription actually ending, or the start of the next month after the period ends? You may need to keep trying.

OP9 months agothank you for your help. it is much appreciated....Ebay is so sophisticated now and the support is terrible. Do you know if they have a phone # so I can talk to a live person?

To contact eBay, use the chat assistant to request a call back by starting on the Help & Contact page and following the links for your issue.
What options you see may depend on your particular issue and how busy that department is at the moment.
Try entering "agent" into the chat window. You may have to provide some context to reach the correct department. If you see a "Still need help?" or "More options" choice, either of those should lead to a call back option.

·9 months agoIf it officially closed on January 1st, try subscribing again using that name on February 1st.
