Shipping methods
I'm still unsure when I sell something how do I shift do I call you USPS to come and pick it up do I have to order supplies cuz USPS gives free supplies where eBay charges So what does the community do mostly when shipping an item to a customer?

·1 month agoAs far as pick up goes, a lot depends on where you live. I live in a rural area and pickup by the USPS is problematic. And FedEx/UPS are out of the question. You may have better luck depending on where you live.
That being said. I always take my packages to USPS and get them scanned in there. I take UPS/Fedex to a local shipping store that serve as a dropoff for the services
If you using calculated shipping then you need to stick to that and as others have said you need to know weights/sizes of the boxes BEFORE you list.
My volume of sales and types of items requires I have lots of boxes on hand. The only reasonable way for that is to buy from Uline. I reuse boxes if possible from things I have purchased.
All my listings have flat rates and state '"standard shipping" so I can choose whatever service is available. And box them up after the sale. I have enough experience that I can estimate the cost of shipping for most items.

·1 month agoYou should already have your item boxed up BEFORE listing so you can enter the correct size and weight.

·1 month agoI'm sure you have no idea how to return to this thread you started to even get the information you are requesting....but here goes.
1st- you do NOT use 'USPS' provided packaging UNLESS you are shipping something 'Priority'...which costs anywhere from 40% to 100% more than Ground Advantage.
2nd- you should NOT have listed anything for sale until you understand shipping.
3rd- have a box or envelope or 'whatever' to ship the item
4th- when something sells, you go to your 'Seller Hub' and find the order, then print a label. You can choose all types of ways to ship, but it should ALREADY match whatever you already listed your items as shipping by.
For example- USPS or UPS or Fedex??

·1 month agoThe free supplies from the post office don’t necessarily offer the cheapest postage rates for your customers, as priority mail can get pretty pricey.

·1 month agoPack up, print the label and USPS shows up daily to pick up at my office. Other options, you take directly to a PO & get an acceptance scan at the counter or arrange for a pick up. FedEx and UPS charge for pick ups, not sure about the USPS
