Shipping
I advertised an item with free shipping and later added best offer. I received an offer that reads $20 + shipping although the original listing says shipping included. Now I am confused as to what that means. Is the buyer offering to pay the shipping and how will that work if my listing says I am covering the shipping?

·2 years agoHave the Ebay rules for shipping changed recently by charging as per number of items? I have committed to buy 58 basketball cards from a seller I have bought from before. I indicated, I wanted combined shipping option by clicking on the button in the original communication. Since then we have exchanged several texts, whereupon he indicated he would be away over the Easter weekend. He is agreeable, working with me to reduce the cost of shipping , since what he is mailing me are cardboard basketball cards, to be shipped in an mailing envelope. This seller has been in the business for years now and has an excellent feedback record. The problem, according to him is that when he submitted a new invoice, reducing the shipping, "Ebay" changed the charge, claiming he can only mail 40 cards at one time. Then it was $19.00. Huh? Today he apologized for the excessive shipping offered to reduce the shipping for 40 cards from $23.06 to $5.00. The other 18 will be sent for free.
When I went to my cart the charge was back to $23.06. I trust the seller and want to know how to advise him on submitting a brand new invoice. Any thoughts? Anybody?
P.S. I've worked this out with the seller to my satisfaction after realizing it's not up to me to being advising this seller. Instead I will pay the current amount and be refunded the difference by the seller.

·2 years agoShipping is not part of an offer, just the price of the item.

·2 years agoif the original item has free shipping, the offer will also have free shipping
that is a standard response to remind buyers that the offer does NOT include any shipping charges (whether it is free or calculated) that are advertised in the original listing.
