My first time using eBay I sold a gold coin and was scammed out of 3500$ eBay left me out to dry
Dang, you did EVERYTHING that could go wrong. New ebayer and seller, listed a very EXPENSIVE item, and the shipping seems to be standard with NO tracking, insurance or signature service??? Yikes!
I see the completed listing was also a charity auction. Does 10% still goes to the big guy? If so, ...ouch!
Just use this as a learning experience as NOT what to do, especially for a NEWBIE seller. Sorry for your lost 😳
Did you ship the gold bullion to an address provided by eBay? Did the system show you were actually paid or did you rely on a fake email? A bit more info would be helpful. The USPS and AG take interstate crime of gold bullion seriously. But without knowing what you actually did, no one can help you. Something is amiss

The person who bought it was suspended by Ebay and my guess is that this person has attempted or done this to other sellers in the past. Why Ebay allows new sellers to sell expensive items like this is beyond my comprehension. The only thing I can advise is to file a police report in that buyers location and see if they can do anything for you. Expensive lesson learned. Again, very sorry.

That's a good estimated guess.
Look at the buyers addressing you shipped to. Then search online that address and see if one of the "people search" engines shows buyer name at said address. You want call the town and/or county offices assuming the perpetrator lives in the USA. You want explain the situation and ask for phone number of Township local police, County Sherriff if they have one and State Police direct contact number.
Have ALL DETAILS ready as you speak to police, usually its County Sherriff that has a unit towards cybercrime as of course will State Police. Make sure inform them eBay has suspended the buyers account but in attempting communicate to other vendors you were told to contact the authorities. Authorities can get to eBay and obtain more data via eBay Trust and Safety. You suspect the perpetrator has done this to other people given eBay's instant reaction in suspending the buyers account.
Have all information you have printed, ready to go either via Registered Mail (preferably overnight) or ability to Fax and/or send scans via email to authorities. Request case number's assigned.
Contact your local police or better yet again, County Sheriff or State Police and inform them just as you have the perpetrators local authorities. Give them the case number assigned and request case number from you're authorities.
The transaction occurred online which means there will be a trail that authorities can follow. There's a bank card or payment from an institution someplace. There is an IP address and MAC address of the device used to access eBay and the payment mechanism hoping proxy was not used.
Again, have ALL communications and details between you and the buyer, you and eBay ready for authorities to have INSTANTLY upon contact with them. Time matters.
You don't give much detail. So -- you became a member of eBay on December 30, 2022, and on January 7, 2023, all of eight (8) days later, your first listing was posted -- an auction of a gold coin with a starting price of $1,950.00.
The winning bid was $3,500.00.
New seller + high priced item often equals a loss for the seller. $3,500.00 would be a very bad loss indeed.
Did that winning bidder pay? Through eBay? Did eBay send you a notice saying it was OK to ship the coin? Did you use a shipping method that provides a tracking number? Has the item been delivered to the buyer? Is the buyer claiming that what he received is not what you listed?
OR is your question/post about a message from eBay that they will hold the funds from this transaction for as much as 30 days?
There's a lot of knowledge on this Board. If you can give a better explanation of your problem, I am sure someone can at least explain it to you. Or try to. Or at least be a lesson to other new sellers that trying to sell on eBay is NOT a Get Rich Quick plan.
Never sell anything online that you're not willing to loose, that's #1.

At $3500 that's a grand above felony status in the USA. When you're talking that sort of money its ever so important handle things properly right from word go because unlike 98% of consumer fraud against others that amount of money get a District Attorney involved.
It was a well thought out scam being I’m new to eBay I was communicating mostly threw email they set up a eBay email so I was corresponding with the scammers thinking it’s eBay. They had everything down to perfection and me being new didn’t know what to expect or how to proceed. The scammer basically told me it won’t post onto my account until buyer gets coin. This being that sellers were scamming buyers by redirecting orders once they got payment it sounded logical. I was a little upset because I actually got threw to real ebay in email stating I sent coin out with tracking number and all. It could have been avoided if they caught that and said buyer hasn’t paid yet. I take responsibility for being foolish. I just feel eBay should take some as well. Ebay hasn’t contacted me one time about the issue they made 250$ That I paid. It’s just very aggravating that a rep told me they been dealing with this type of scam.

OMG, have you got a lot to learn.
eBay will send the seller an email stating it is OK to send the product to the buyer after that buyer pays through eBay. (Through -- note spelling.) Payments must ONLY be made through (spelling) eBay.
Any "buyer" who contacts you and asks you for your PayPal info or some other way to pay you other than paying through (spelling) eBay is a scam. And you should stop everything related to the transaction.
As you have learned, it is never sufficient to "[send] eBay all the info letting them [eBay] know so they had knowledge of [you] sending [the] product out." eBay will not hold your hand through (<again) every step of the transaction.
Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ?!? My goodness.
