Permanent restriction contradicts my seller performance – visualgraphics_30
My eBay account, visualgraphics_30, has been permanently restricted due to issues with the BBE system, but my seller rating is "Above Standard," with 0% defects, 0% shipping delays, and 100% positive feedback. I resolved both cases of items not received (one buyer closed the case and left positive feedback, and I voluntarily refunded the other). The system is penalizing me for shipping delays that are beyond my control. One system tells you you're a "Top Seller" with perfect metrics, and the other permanently restricts you for two cases you successfully resolved. There's no consistency. It's confusing. This is unfair. Please look into this.

·4 months agoSeller level statistics are far more lenient than BBE ratings.
The inconsistency you observe is intentional, as is your permanent restriction.
International shipping is a magnifier of customer service issues and the difference in the standards is pragmatic.

OP4 months agoThank you for your honest and clear explanation. I appreciate that you took the time to understand my situation instead of just attacking me like the previous user.
What you say makes sense, and it confirms what I was starting to suspect: eBay's BBE standards are intentionally much stricter for international sellers, and the permanent restriction is not a bug – it's a feature of the system.
That said, I still believe the system is unfair in my specific case:
My two INR cases were both resolved satisfactorily. One buyer closed the case voluntarily and left positive feedback. The other received a full refund from me personally, even though eBay had already closed the case in my favor.
eBay restricted my selling privileges on April 30, then permanently restricted me on May 19. How could I improve my BBE rate if I was not allowed to sell? That is a logical contradiction.
My Seller Level is "Above Standard" with 0% defects, 0% late shipments, and 100% positive feedback. If I am such a "bad seller" according to BBE, why does eBay itself classify me as "Above Standard"?
I understand that eBay has the right to set its own standards. But I also believe that a platform that claims to support small sellers should allow for human review when the automated system creates an impossible cycle.
Thank you again for your respectful and informative response. I wish you continued success on eBay.

·4 months agoThat has to be really hard to take. It's like the connection between eBay's Seller side and eBay's Buyer side has broken.
Best of luck wherever you land 🤓

·4 months agoThe fact that you resolved the two issues is not what eBay measures. They want sellers, at least those from areas that have typically had higher levels of problems, to not have those cases opened in the first place. They measure how many cases are opened without regard to the outcome.
Their goal is not to make it easier to sell on eBay, they have plenty of sellers. Their goal is to reduce risk to themselves and their buyers, and to improve the image of the platform (note, I don't have insider information about this, but it's clear from the policies and how they're implemented).
And you're correct, you cannot improve your BBE rating if you are not able to sell, which eBay notes in their documentation. Typically you are put in a warning state first, and have a short time to correct the issues, but once they remove your ability to sell at all, there is nothing you can do, and that is by design.

·4 months agoI'll bet that they read every one of them, there is a lot of good information about various issues that they don't know about on here.

·4 months agoOnce you are permanently ban due to BBE issues then there is nothing you can do as far as Ebay. You need to find another platform to sell on. There is nothing we can do as a community to help you change the outcome in your favor. This was an Ebay decision. We have no authority to look at your records other than feedback and listings.
