Not Getting Sales
Hello eBay Community,
I hope you are doing well.
I need some guidance regarding my store performance. Currently, I have 6 active listings, and I have also added volume pricing. My listings are getting good impressions, traffic, and page views, but unfortunately, I have only received one order in the last three weeks.
Despite good visibility, I am not getting enough sales. I would really appreciate your advice on what I can improve. Is there something I might be missing regarding pricing, SEO, listing quality, or buyer trust?
Any suggestions or tips would be very helpful.

·6 months agoWow .. how do you sell Elemis items below market value? You must get an exceptional discount.
Elemis is NOT made in the USA like you claim. You need to have a better understanding of the items you are personally responsible for.

OP6 months agoI set my prices according to the suggested pricing and market guidance shown by eBay at the time, which is why they were lower than some other listings. After receiving feedback here and reviewing the market more carefully, I have now made changes to my pricing. You are also right about the product origin. I appreciate you correcting me, and I realize that I need to improve my product knowledge. I have updated my listings accordingly. Please to check them now, and I welcome any further suggestions.

·6 months agoI would strongly recommend that you NOT rely on ebay pricing suggestions and market guidance. While it can be a good ball park figure SOMETIMES, it is incorrect a lot of the time. Had one just today that for an item I was listing the ebay suggested price was $19.00 but actual sold items in the past 3 months brought over $100.
I have come to rely on actual sold prices by doing an advanced search for completed sales on ebay.

·6 months agoSo, you have this wonderful warehouse in the US from which your items are shipped.
Looked at some of your mushroom coffees. One ships from Dallas, one ships from Lemon Grove, CA.
More than ONE warehouse evidently.
Regardless of your denials, and your apparent earnest attempt to fix your listings, it's still fairly evident that you are drop shipping.
soh.maryl
·6 months agoThe thing is this: You deny that you are drop shipping. Your listings claim to be in the US, but every one of them states that the buyer will pay a tariff. Your replies here when asked about this do not lend any credibility to your claims.

OP6 months agoI want to be honest and transparent. I am a new seller, and when I first listed my items, I did not fully understand all the settings and policies. I listed my items for the US market, but my account’s original location is the UK. Because of this, the system automatically applied tariff information, and I did not realize it at the time.I was not trying to mislead anyone. I genuinely did not know why tariffs were showing, and this is something I have recently learned about through this discussion.I am now updating my account and listings to correct my location and shipping settings so that this issue is resolved.

·6 months agokeep at it. The only one changed to United States has a fictitious location (Illford)😎
jonathanbrightlight
·6 months agoYep, there is no city named Ilford in the US as far as I can determine, so the details are still wrong.
@sal-988675 My recommendation would be to take down all your current listings, take some time to understand how to correctly list and sell your items, and the dangers of having mistakes in your listings (either intentionally or accidentally), and then and only then you can relist the items you can actually sell and deliver within eBay policy.

·6 months ago"Chinese eBay sellers in the UK frequently list items with "UK stock" or "UK seller" tags while operating from China, often using UK-based third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses or fulfillment centers for faster shipping. These sellers often register UK companies or use virtual addresses to appear local. Key indicators of a Chinese seller include long delivery times (e.g., 2-3 weeks) despite the item location being listed in the UK, and high, sometimes questionable feedback." Wikipedia
Those are their words. I believe them a lot of the time. Same words can be used just swap UK/USA
So are you going to tell us your Original Country of Origin or are you going to Play a Game ?
soh.maryl
·6 months agoThe OP has had several pages to level with us, and tell us exactly where his items are located, and presumably ship from. (Wouldn't it have to be the same place?)
sal-988675
OP6 months agoYes, you are right,I should have explained this more clearly from the beginning. I am personally based in the UK, but my stock is stored in a warehouse in the USA, and all orders are shipped from there. So the storage location and shipping location are the same.My lack of clear communication earlier caused confusion, and I take responsibility for that. I am now trying to be more transparent and provide accurate information
sal-988675
OP6 months agoI am not trying to play any game, and I want to be completely transparent. My original location is the UK. I recently started working in the US market after someone suggested that I try selling there. As a new seller in this market, I am still learning the policies, settings, and how everything works on eBay.Because of this, I made some mistakes in my listings and account setup, especially regarding location and tariffs. These were not intentional. I am now taking the time to properly understand the market rules and correct everything. My goal is to build a genuine business, not to mislead anyone.

·6 months agoOr want you to believe they have US warehouses, but their listings mention that you'll pay tariffs.

·6 months agoAnd amazing how most of the listings for those exact same items with the same photos go out of their way to say how the products are in the United States. Almost like they are all using some sort of drop shipping company.

·6 months agoIt is amazing how many new sellers from overseas show up here every single day claiming to own staffed warehouses in the United States full of inventory. There are 3 of you on the first page of this message board alone. Granted, they are usually in the Middle East or North Africa, but it is always the same story.
If you can trust your US staff to ship the items and run the warehouse then there is no reason that they can't run an ebay account registered to whatever your US entity is.
Also, if you had a warehouse and employees in the US and were trying and largely failing to sell 5 low demand products on ebay then you must be hemmoraging money from that warehouse.
So, did you buy the warehouse in the US, then fill it with staff and products, spending millions of dollars and then embark on a no plan ebay career that you are inexplicably running from Europe? What was the path to that?

·6 months agoYou have 6 active listings and just 1 sale, yet you have warehouse in the US stocked full of merchandise?

·6 months agoYou only have six listings but you're concerned that 1 out of 6 has already sold? If my math is correct, your current sell-through rate is 17% which is decent for a new seller.

·6 months agoIMO you are not choosing items which are likely to generate volume sales.
I am afraid that you are suffering from a lack of understanding of the US market and buyers, A USB cable is not an incentive to buy a Vaginal Probiotic.
Your use of stock images and higher prices than competitive listings on Ebay suggests dropshipping. whether you are or not.
You have some items priced too far below established US retailers to avoid fears of counterfeit product.
On the whole, you should not be expecting much in the way of sales of these 6 items.
kensgiftshop
·6 months agoIt shows you are in the UK and your listings show the items are located in the UK.
You have USPS as the shipping options, which isn't possible from the UK.
You only ship to the US with free shipping.
You're probably dropshipping from Amazon or Aliexpress.

·6 months agoI am eyeing a beautiful Maggioni piece. Unfortunately it is coming from Canada. The US tariffs are too uncertain for me to buy. The listing states that I am responsible for tariff taxes to the shipper. I miss the days when we could buy anything from anywhere. As a small reseller US policies have us limited to what US citizens can buy.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoIn my case, I genuinely own my stock, and it is stored in a warehouse in the USA. I am not dropshipping or listing items that I don’t physically have. I manage the entire operation online, including inventory control, order processing, and customer service.
I make sure that all items listed are available in my warehouse before offering them for sale. My goal is to run a reliable and transparent business and provide a good experience for buyers.

·6 months agoIt's amazing how many International sellers have their own warehouse in the US.
jonathanbrightlight
·6 months agoIf that were true, then you have your listings set up incorrectly, because they all say you are shipping from the UK. But since you have a rather random assortment of items that would not make sense for you to be paying for warehousing and support staff in the US, especially on such a small set of items, I am confident that you're being misled or are misleading us (or both).
bdmh-enterprises
·6 months agoWell, if their listings were set up correctly, then they'd have to deal with that pesky 'forward deployed inventory' application and this post would be like many of the others complaining about being denied..
onefootflipper
·6 months agoI think 98 percent of the time "Forward Deployed Inventory" is just "dropshipping with extra steps". Everyone with this story all seems to sell the exact same sort of stuff. Which tells me it is still being purchased and shipped via a third party.
stainlessenginecovers
·6 months agoThen
a.) sign up as a business
b.) assign one of your 'US' workers that are in the warehouse to sign up for ebay, get bank account for payments to a US bank etc. and then the listings will show 'US'.
shire123
·6 months agoI think the answer is pretty simple as others have stated. It's all about price and location. Your listing states the item is located in the UK. And US buyers get the message they may have to pay extra. Plus your products are priced higher than what others are selling products. Zero feedback is also a turnoff.
Build up your feedback by selling items in the UK on the UK site and not on the .com site.

·6 months agoIf not already mentioned your $40 item Elemis 50140 Pro-collagen SPF30 Marine Cream 50 Ml can be purchased on ebay for ~ $22 with free shipping. Really no mystery to selling; price, availability and reliable service.
pickapaper
·6 months ago@lb23cavaliersmvp
I looked at a lot of the eBay listings for the Elemis Pro-collagen SPF30 Marine Cream 50ml and most of them that are selling for a low price are sellers with only a handful of feedback; some have negatives for selling fake cosmetics; some say they are in another country but others say in the U.S. but would guess they are drop-shipping. It looks like those sellers are all getting their product from the same place and are trying to pass it off. I sure wouldn't buy from any of them.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoI’ve noticed that some sellers with very few feedback still have good sales, while others even have negative feedback but are selling a lot. That has been confusing for me, and I’ve been trying to understand how that happens.
You may be right that many of these sellers are dropshipping or sourcing from the same place and trying to pass the products off as something else. Unfortunately, that makes it harder for genuine sellers.
In my case, I am not dropshipping. I own my stock and keep it in a US warehouse, and I focus on selling authentic products.

·6 months agoIf you want to improve your conversion you're going to need to drastically reduce your shipping time, lower your prices, and change your shipping location. At the moment, this is being displayed to your visitors:
Everything you're selling is available at a better price with a faster delivery time from domestic sellers. The fact that you have no feedback and only three sales in the past year doesn't help.
Yes, you can list more than 10 items as long as there are no restrictions on your account. You can list as many items as your selling limit permits. You should be able to find that information on the overview page for your account.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoYou have given me a very good solution and helped me understand the real issues clearly. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain everything, especially about pricing, delivery time, and seller feedback.
Your advice is very helpful, and I will work on improving my prices, delivery speed, and building more positive feedback. I will also review my selling limits and try to list more suitable items. Thanks for for help
buyselljack2016
·6 months agoFor me, as a buyer in the U S of A, the time to get the item (17 to 36 days) would be a factor in making (not making) a purchase.
ten_o_nine
·6 months agoGetting high impressions and traffic with low sales often points to a "conversion" issue rather than a "visibility" one. While your SEO is successfully getting buyers to your page, something is preventing them from clicking "Buy It Now."

OP6 months agoI’d appreciate advice on
How to improve conversion
What buyers look for before purchasing
Common mistakes that stop buyers from buying

bonanza125
·6 months agoWell 6 item listings are very little to generate a lot of sales. Some items take longer to sell than others. In addition buyers tend to purchase from sellers who have more established feedback. You are from the United Kingdom posting on a US site so if you are expecting US buyers to purchase from you it might be a stretch in comparison to UK buyers.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoIs it ok to list more then 10 item per day ?
sal-988675
OP6 months agoAlthough my account location shows the UK, my stock is actually stored in the USA, and all orders are shipped from a US warehouse. I am not shipping from the UK. My handling time and delivery estimates are based on domestic US shipping.
So for buyers, it works the same as purchasing from a US-based seller in terms of delivery time and shipping location.
jonathanbrightlight
·6 months agoSo you’re drop shipping.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoNo Dropshipping i have a stock in my warehouse.
soh.maryl
·6 months agoWhere are you located? Where is your warehouse?
If your warehouse is in the US, why would US buyers need to pay tariffs?
You might want to pull back a little bit and rethink your business plan.
sal-988675
OP6 months agoI am personally based in the UK, but my warehouse and inventory are located in the USA, and all orders are shipped directly from there to buyers.
You are right that US buyers should not have to pay tariffs for domestic shipments. I’m honestly not sure why the tariff information was showing on my listings. I believe it may be related to my account location being set to the UK.
jonathanbrightlight
·6 months agoYou purchased stock, hired people to run a rented warehouse space, and are fully in charge of that operation from the UK despite it being across the pond?
We see a lot of sellers claiming they own their stock in their warehouse. I can’t remember any time that was true.
soh.maryl
·6 months agoPer your statement, you are in the UK, but your items will be shipped from the US.
If that's the case, why do your listings mention tariffs?
sal-988675
OP6 months agoThank you for pointing this out.
To be honest, this is something I am currently reviewing and working on.My items are shipped from within the USA, tariffs should not apply to domestic buyers.I understand that this may confuse buyers and affect their trust, so I am now updating my listings to remove or correct this information.
stainlessenginecovers
·6 months agoLook at your listings while you are NOT signed in.
It shows 'item coming from UK'
Also states' tariffs will be charged etc.' .
So, would cost a fortune, plus your pricing higher than others.
A complete failure and if you listed 23000 items the same way, you would still have NO sales.
You say your items are 'housed' in the USA- but you are in UK. Then you ARE dropshipping as I very much doubt you have a warehouse with workers paid by you to pack/pull and ship items, when you only have 6 items listed.
eze-right1
·6 months agoI believe that you have to post more to get more sales. I have 20 items posted and I just sold a couple of items this week, so it really comes down to whomever is looking for your items, and these items I speak of had been for sale for a good bit of time. In any case, God Bless and I hope you sell more stuff!
sal-988675
OP6 months agoIs it ok to list more then 10 items per day ?
inhawaii
·6 months agoYou can post just ONE item and get lots of sales.
It depends on what that item is and how it's priced.
soh.maryl
·6 months agoAre you drop shipping?
sal-988675
