New to selling, how do I learn any In and outs ? Also, how do I increase the views?
Hello, I am relatively new. I want to start selling used clothing. What’s the best way to get a lot of views on my items. Also how do I figure out the cost and is it better to promote my listings. Is it better dynamic or fixed Cost?

Just a couple of suggestions for you on your current listings. You are wasting a lot of space in your Title. Your Title is extremely important.
I would suggest you add the size of the top to the title. But "By" in front of INC and after that I would include Int'l for the word international which is part of the brand name.
Your pictures need more clarity. I see you are using a tape measure in the pics, which is a TERRFIC thing to do, however your pics are crisp enough to even be able to read the tape measurer. You also have pics that have a significant shadow on them.
Clean, Crisp and well lite is the place to start with your pictures.
Repeat the measurements of the blouse in your Description.

Besides familiarizing yourself with eBay policies, you should be checking out the competition.
If you have a blue silk blouse to list, check out the other listings for blue silk blouses, particularly the sold listings. This gives you an idea of how best to describe and price your items to sell.
And always include measurements on your garments. Sizing varies from brand to brand and even within brands. Measurements are key.

·11 months agoIt's good that you are adding photos that appear to show measurements of the garments.
BUT -- the place you are measuring might not be helpful to buyers.
Many women's blouse/top listings show the (inelegantly phrased) "pit to pit" measurement of the front only.
When my selling ID lists women's tops, she measures about 1" below the underarm seams. That's closer to most women's body shapes than precisely at the underarms.
You show measurements that are about halfway between the underarm seams and waistlines.
When I list clothing, I think about what I look for when I buy clothing. What is the fiber content? I strongly favor cotton and other natural fibers, such as wool, silk, linen, etc. Some people will never wear animal-sourced fabrics (wool, silk), even in blends. I also look at the care instructions. Does the blouse have to be dry-cleaned? Can it be machine washed and machine-dried? Does the manufacturer recommend hanging to dry or drying flat?
About your listing for that yellow top --
are you aware that the Subtitle you added to the listing WILL cost you $2.00 if the top sells?
Are those few words worth $2.00 subtracted from your profit?
There is a lot to learn when you are new to selling on eBay. One thing I found helpful is to read these Community Forums regularly, every couple of days or when you have the time.

·11 months ago@lilicrafts hi, u'v been on eBay since 2004, 21 years! so NOT new. But as far as selling is concerned, like anything new in life, there will be trial and error to learn from.
When i first started selling, i thought pre-packaging my items was best, only to find out it was not. Buyers ask questions and sometimes I had to open the package to find the answer, or they bought multiple items, so i had to un-package and re-package, etc.
I also thought it was best to create all the shipping labels at once, only to make mistakes and put the wrong label on the wrong package. Now I package and print the label one at a time.
The others have given u great advice. Mainly, u have to post a lot of items to get the most views and possibilities of sales. Posting just a few items only works if u have highly sought after items.
Good Luck!

·11 months agoBesides all the other tips -
Use more photos.
Take photos of the items tags,
Put all measurement in the description.
Get rid of the fake AI description.
You write the description yourself. AI comes off as if you dont know what you are selling.
Flowery AI comes off like a used car salesman.
Dont worry about promoting. You are not there yet.
Views do not in any way equal sales.
Its like getting a "like" on FB. Nice but it doesn't mean anything and wont pay the bills.
An item can be viewed 100 times and not sold. Sold is all that counts.

·11 months agoAgree with all the others, but you may want to add other items for sale besides used clothing. Its such an oversaturated category with millions of listings, if you dont have something special to offer, clothing items can get lost in the shuffle. Good luck.
P.S. also, photographing clothing items laying on a wrinkled sheet is not an attractive or eye catching photo. You may want to rethink that, as your competition is very tough.

·11 months ago@wirkaholic has some great tips! My advice is to make sure that your pictures are bright and clear. The yellow blouse listing has shadows in all but the first photo. I would also put the size in the title and maybe a brand name if you have it. Then, use the description to put all the measurements because they aren't always a true size. Those measurements are very important. I don't sell clothing any more, so I'm sure someone on here can help you with more helpful hints.
Good luck to you and welcome to ebay!

·11 months agoThanks for pointing that out @gloryglorygifts I forgot.
@lilicrafts you can still go in and edit those pictures. Go back in and edit the listing there is a place at the bottom of every picture that will allow you to adjust the brightness with a slider bar. I would suggest that you play around with those buttons at the bottom so you can familarize yourself with what each one does.

Currently, there are 1,100,000+ results when I search for ‘floral top’. Only 180,000 have sold in the past 90 days.
It seems like a game of chance just listing clothes on eBay.
Unless they are unique in some way. Vintage, designer, collectible.
I would put the size in the title and add measurements to the description.

·11 months agoFirst of all since you are new. Make sure you have read the Selling Guide so you know all the fees, rules, and tips on selling on here. It is in the help section. New sellers always just jump right in then run into trouble because they didn't do their homework first.
Second- Your titles need to be better. women Yellow tops, INC will not bring any viewers. Think like you are a customer what would you want to know. You are missing key elements like size , brand, and other details that people use the search bar for. Look at other peoples listings to get an idea of what should be in your title. I almost forgot Descriptions...Measurements listed in the description. just a tape measure in the picture will not do. Again, think like a buyer. Look at your listing like a buyer.
Third - Pricing an item is subjective to everyone. How much did you pay for that item? How much do you need to make to come out ahead by taking in account of seller fees. Those fees can be found in the seller help section.
Selling used cloting here is probably the hardest since it is saturated. You need to stand out. Research what is selling hot. I can't stress enough how important it is to research what you are selling. Use the Ebay search bar and see if what you are selling has a thousand other listings or just a few and what they sold for.
I suggest not to use promotions yet. Get your feet wet first and get comfortable with the system and how Ebay works. Work on better listings.
You have all the tools you need right now. You just have to learn how to use them to improve. God knows we can all improve. Myself included. I always learn new tips and tricks here. The boards will be your best friend for knowledge. Someone here will always take time to help.

·11 months agoKeep listing items and understand Ebay policy. You have no returns. If there is an issue which there is a high level of issues with clothes a buyer can still return the item within 30 days. Yes if the clothing doesn't fit they can still return. My advice would be to have a 30 day return w/seller pays for shipping. Have a strong return policy. List items you think will sell. Keep in mind that not all items are in demand and some can sit on the market for years. Price your items right. Do proper research and see what items sold for. If you are overpriced people just don't click on the listing. If they are priced below market or cheap buyers will purchase quickly. I wouldn't select "promote listing" cause that's extra fees which you don't really need for what you are listing.
