New seller but already noticing eBay things
Hi new seller here been selling since the middle of October and I’ve noticed a few things that don’t seem up to par.
I’ve made plenty of sales all with In Very short bursts. One day I’ll have 6 sales with in an hour all going to Texas then nothing for a day or two the three sales all going to Oregon. Seems weird on other sites my sales are consistent and go all over
havent had a single sale that wasn’t promoted and laying eBay extra. First week or so I got one view total on. Multiple listings start promoting now I’m getting ok views probably because I’m only doing 5% promotion and not the suggested 13.2 percent they want me to use. And every single sale I’m being told was because of promotion even though my organic views are triple my promotion views.
let’s see how much I I’ve actually deposited…. $0!!!
that’s right $0. Seems every order has a hold (I understand that ) but I’ll make just enough sales so that when one order ones off shipping and fees wipe it out. Or an item bounces all over the place whe I use eBay labels. Use my own item he’s right where it’s supposed to. I have one high dollar order that’s been to the town it’s supposed to go to three times just to bounce out of that town and travel all over the. Go right back to have it happen all over again. Customers asking for a refund.
I got put on a review for 72 hours because of eBay’s shipping issues and low and behold once that’s I sold enough to make sure the next item to come off hold those funds a wiped away by fees.
it’s kind of discouraging using the bigggest selllng site and having to go through so much and still not see a dime. Already thinking about pulling my listings.

·1 year agoI would suggest using an eBay fee calculator that can help you input your numbers to make sure you will receive the profit needed to continue to sell. Make sure you understand eBays selling policies/guidelines as well. (Fee structure)
Don't feel bad and learn from your mistake. Many new buyers go through this but thankfully there are many tools (not necessarily speaking of any specific members here) that can help you work through this.
-Good luck

·1 year agoEBay does not have shipping issues because eBay does not ship anything. Sellers choose the shipping carrier.
If you think eBay shipping labels are an issue, try Pirate Ship, they sell the same labels for UPS and USPS.
If you are buying ESUS labels, you will experience issues with tracking and late deliveries from what I read here on the boards. ESUS is a sub-standard service.

OP1 year agoMy post says that when I buy my own labels items have zero issues getting to where they are going

·1 year agoIt is true that eBay NEEDS and WANTS to control everything, including the air time your listings get, where they get it, and there's pretty much no such thing as an organic sale anymore, even when it is.
It isn't true that purchasing a shipping label from eBay will have any effect on a bad transit experience. eBay isn't that good to control that, yet. Maybe with the international orders.

·1 year agoBeware of Apophenia which afflicts many online sellers.
Apophenia is a type of cognitive bias involving the tendency to find patterns where they don’t actually exist, i.e. in things that are unrelated or random. It was first described by neurologist Klaus Conrad in 1958 in relation to patients with schizophrenia.

Prior to this I just called it paranoia.
