New Business Account Restricted Immediately — Need Help Verifying My LLC
Hello everyone,
I recently created a U.S. business seller account using my registered U.S. LLC. Shortly after creating it, the account was permanently restricted without an explanation. I’m based in Jordan but manage the LLC remotely, and I believe the restriction happened because my connection showed inconsistent information during registration. I was setting up my new business account and may have been connected through a U.S. server for security reasons, which could have triggered an automatic restriction.
I’ve already contacted eBay support and sent a verification request, but I’m hoping to understand if anyone else has experienced this situation and successfully reinstated their business account.
I can provide all documentation for my LLC, EIN, and ID, and I want to comply with eBay’s verification process.
Any guidance from experienced sellers or eBay moderators would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

I operate the business remotely from abroad, which is allowed under eBay’s global selling policy as long as all documentation and fulfillment methods are compliant. I have no connection to any restricted accounts and I do not dropship from retail sources and i can provide suppliers invoices."
Think you are missing the point, YOU do not live in the USA therefore you can NOT register using USA as your location. You have to sign up showing where you live, not where the warehouse and items are located. Many sellers have warehouses/stock in US locations but live in a different country. That part is allowed.
Registering your account in the USA you would need to be able to provide a USA address, USA checking account and Social Security Number or USA Tax ID in your name as registered owner in order to get paid.
Also, the checking and eBay accounts name/address would need to match exactly on both accounts.

OP10 months agoYes I done it all,and for the address; when i created the account i used my exact residential address in my home country but change it after getting the restriction thinking maybe it was the issue.
I can change the legal address back to my residential address hence nothing will change.

·10 months agoEbay acts to protect its buyers from potential trust and safety issues, and meets US government regulations relative to money laundering.
It need not have proof of a specific violation to take action to avoid such problems.

·11 months agoYou living in Jordan but registering in the USA is what caused all this problem. I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that you will not be reinstated.
We are just other buyers/sellers here in these forums and we cannot reinstate your account

·11 months agoThe confusion with residing in Jordon then registering as being in the U.S. is the problem. Im sure you wont be reinstated.

·10 months ago'warehouse in the USA'...we kinda heard that a lot from sellers who get restricted here.
You cannot be in two places at the same time...USA and Jordan.
Why wouldn't someone in the USA 'warehouse' sell items in that warehouse and have an eBay ID residing in the USA.
I mean, who is shipping out, giving refunds, taking returns?
And taxes have to be paid at year end...who does that?
dana_7798
OP10 months agoyou make things much complicated that way.
Easy warehouse manage shipping orders, receiving returns.
The agent who formed your company manage to manage your taxes.
And you operate from outside the US as a non-us citizen.
There are many seller who sell in the US from outside what is the issue with that.

·10 months agoHave the agent register in the USA then... since they are doing all the work?
Can't see how there is a profit where 'someone else' doing all the work... are they doing this for 'free'?
And this person getting charged for taxes end of year.

·11 months agoI have read many posts about sellers accounts being permanently restricted or suspended those accounts are never reinstated. Sorry, but you would need to find somewhere else to sell.

OP11 months agoThank you for sharing your experience. I understand that many accounts face permanent restrictions, but my situation is different. I am a legitimate business with a U.S. LLC, and I’ve provided all required documentation to eBay.
I’m specifically looking for official guidance from eBay staff on how to resolve the restriction, not general opinions. Any advice from eBay or someone who has successfully reinstated an account would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

·11 months agoIf any of the information you provided for your remote business, including both in the USA and in Jordan, or your local representative, have ever been involved or associated with an eBay account that has been restricted, then your account has been linked to the restricted account and will now share the restriction.
When a new account is restricted immediately, this is almost always the reason. There is no way to recover from this issue. eBay believes that you are using an assumed (false) identity to get around the restriction.
Registering an LLC is very easy to do. It doesn't provide any assurance of legitimacy. Anyone with access to the internet can set up and register a non-resident LLC in the USA. There are companies that offer to help by providing a local agent and mailing address, but if any of their former clients have been restricted by eBay, then they could have caused the problem.
dana_7798
OP11 months agoThank you for your insight. I understand that linked accounts can be an issue in some cases. However, I want to clarify that this is my first eBay account, and I am a legitimate business owner with a U.S. LLC. All documentation, including EIN, address, and payment methods, is fully verified.
I’m not trying to bypass any restrictions or use another identity. My goal is simply to resolve the account restriction and continue selling. I am looking for official guidance from eBay staff on the next steps.
Any advice or direction from someone who has successfully reinstated a legitimate business account would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

·10 months agoYou may Believe you're Legitimate because you've done all the Paperwork to look Legitimate on Paper, but believe me, ebay has been down this road before, thousands of times. To ebay, you're a Legitimate Scammer sitting in a cubicle in some call center in a basement of an office complex somewhere in the Al-Balad area of downtown Jordan trying to play the game on ebay. You got caught this try. Please do not try again. Hopefully ebay catches your Buddy sitting in the cubicle next to you who managed to get on ebay without getting caught and is scamming ebay Buyers as we speak.

·10 months agoOK. If it isn't because your agent/supplier/warehouse in the USA has been linked to other eBay accounts that are restricted, then it may be because of the information you provided about your eBay business account.
As other have suggested, you do still have to provide an SSN (or an ITIN, individual tax ID number if you don't have a SSN) when you are registering an eBay business account. An SSN is only available for USA citizens or legal residents of the USA. An ITIN is for non-residents who need to file taxes in the USA, or who need an identifier for other reasons.
Most single-owner LLCs are taxed as pass-through entities, which means that the income is reported on the owner's individual tax return, under their SSN (or rarely, an ITIN). You can provide an EIN for the LLC, but eBay still needs to have the SSN or ITIN for all the beneficial owners of the LLC. I think that eBay defaults to single-owner and assumes pass-through taxation for LLCs.
In most cases, you need to provide a SSN or ITIN in order to open a bank account in the USA as well.
If you are registering from Jordan, and are not a citizen or legal resident of the USA, then you need to use a registered address in Jordan, and sign up for managed payments as a resident of Jordan, not of the USA.
dana_7798
OP10 months agoI used my address in Jordan as my legal address , and the business address as my LLC business Address.
many in the threads saying that maybe your account is linked to another restricted accounts because of my shipping address. but i didn't enter any warehouse address, maybe it's the business address used by the agent.
dana_7798
OP10 months agoi have an EIN
lacemaker3
·10 months agoJust an EIN (Employer Identification Number) is not enough.
These are the requirements for confirming the identify of (at a minimum) the owner and the primary contact (agent) for any business account. You have to provide all the individual identification information for all of the stakeholders (the people who own, are involved in, or will benefit from the business):
Why have you registered an LLC in the USA, if you are not a resident of the USA?
Is there some business or personal benefit to doing this?
You are not the first person who has run into difficulty trying to use this business model. I suspect that there are people who are suggesting and promoting this, for some reason, and I suspect that it is for their own benefit, in the long run. They may be scammers who are trying to take advantage of people by promoting this as a get-rich-quick scheme. Possibly by charging fees to register business entities that don't really have much chance of generating much income or profit.

Your problem is that eBay staff isn't here and their "general opinion" is that they don't want you selling on their platform.
