My first potential sell but at a strange request.
My item was placed on auction and buy it now. I've received bids already and this buyer wants me to send an invoice money request to her so she c can send the payment. Can this be done?

·3 years agoBy the way, would I let buyer pay outside eBay. Nope. Can it be done. Yes.
Buyer can do a debit or credit card chargeback of around 160 days where buyer gets money back from their banking institution plus keeps the item. Buyer basically does not recognize charge and tells bank and gets their money back. Does this buyer has a nice feedback rating for many years?
I would block this buyer or bidder and move on.

·3 years agoSo, as you know or not know you probably won't received the funds from this high end sale for 30+ days...unless you sell thousands every month your funds will be placed on hold from eBay for 30+ days.
By the way, it is a great coin but it is not graded where coin buyers are very picky about condition.
I do not see the back of the card with the coin...some might wonder if you actually have the coin...just my own opinion.
It is too late to cancel the auction for you will be paying eBay fees if you cancel the auction and you will be paying fees of auction ending even though you haven't received any money for 30+ days.
The bidder with 14 bid retractions...I would not cancel his bids but I would block him from future bids.
You do have 3 good bidders on it though.

OP3 years agoThank you. I wanted to get it graded but that would have taken at least a month. I've been getting all my coins and sports cards ready to be sent for grading these past few months. That came straight from the mint sealed so I wasn't too worried about condition of anyone had questions. The back of the card/pamphlet. I didn't even think about opening it up. I will on my others though. Thanks for the insight.

During an auction, some questions about the item can be expected. Not questions about selling price of an item with bids.
Most transactions happen without any communication between buyer and seller. Bidders bid, winners are determined and the seller ships.
It’s unfortunate when a seller jumps in the deep end without knowing what to expect. There have been instances where the seller loses the item and the money. Inexperience as a seller is the most common factor. Especially when that seller has an expensive item.

·3 years agoMy advice to you is to pull the Gold Eagle and NOT sell it on Ebay. There is a HUGE chance you will be scammed and lose it.... You need to read all the posts of people getting scammed on similar items. You are better off selling this item locally for cash on the spot.

·3 years agoThe other bidders have already entered into the bidding.. .So if you canel their bids and end the listing early you will be charged a penalty fee equal to the final value fees as ebay does not like it when you cancel bids and end early.
Plus, now coupled with the fact that you were agreeing to sell to that scammer via messaging ebay may view it as you cancelled the listing to actually do that.
I would not cancel bids and end early unless you are okay with the consequences.

Seller will very likely be assessed an FVF based upon the amount of the highest cancelled bid.................................

·3 years agoA $2000 American Gold Eagle? You are new and are a scam magnet; if someone can't get it from you the way that 'so called buyer' is trying to (will give you fake paid invoice and you will ship it and lose everything) then another buyer will 'win' buy it, open a return for 'not as described', your money will be held up (will be anyway as you are a new seller selling $2k item, so your $$ will be held 30 days past delivery date) then they will ship you a 'rock' and there is nothing you can do as return will show 'delivered' and you will have no 'proof' of what you got.
Items sold at most places on the internet are figured this way; Don't sell what you can't afford to lose.

·3 years agoYou don’t need to send anything, once the auction ends eBay will send the buyer an invoice. You are a new seller and scammers love new sellers. Just let your auction end and once payment has been made you will be able to see it in your seller hub. Do not ship anything until ebay tells you it is okay to ship and always ship only to the address shown by eBay.

OP3 years agoThank you. Now this person is not one of the bidders. They want to know what final cost is. I gave them a little discount. So this isn't something that their are actually needing before then right?

So sorry to tell you this, but (1) eBay should not have allowed a new seller to list such a high dollar item; and (2) It looks like you don't know enough about selling here to do it safely without great loss.

·3 years agoYou can't sell to someone outside of the auction you started. That would be an off ebay transaction and possible permanent suspension from using ebay.
Besides that person is scamming you.
