I'm New to eBay, Please share some advice regarding Stock model for US
Hi everyone,
I’m new to eBay and just starting my journey as a seller in the US market. I would really appreciate some guidance from experienced sellers here.
I’m currently exploring different stock models and would like to understand what works best for beginners:
Is it better to start with dropshipping, bulk inventory, or print-on-demand?
How do you decide which products to stock for the US audience?
What are some low-risk products or categories for beginners?
Any tips on avoiding common mistakes (like account issues or low sales)?
I’m planning to sell phone accessories (like iPhone cases), but I’m open to suggestions if there are better opportunities.
Also, how important is fast shipping and US-based stock for success on eBay?
Looking forward to learning from your experience. Thanks in advance!

The best advice I can give you getting started is to look around your house or apartment and decide what you no longer want or need and list those items for sale. You will gain experience selling without a lot of investment.
Good luck.

·4 months agoEbay already has too many sellers of iphone cases, mostly made in the far east.
Check the prices on iphone cases. Check the number of promoted listings. Check the number of sponsored ads on listing pages.
The real money was made long ago. There is always going to be someone who pays less than you are. There is always someone willing to make less than you are. There are established high volume seller who will eat your lunch.
Using a dropshipper means paying close to retail, not controlling when the product ships, high risks of out of stocks after you get an order and numerous other traps and pitfalls. Most sellers who think they can dropship discover the can't and Ebay has punished them.
Print on demand products get lost in the listings unless you promote them. If they are printed mugs, for example, anyone can draw, and offer their design and order a mug made from it. No one is likely to see your offerings.
Choosing products to offer is hard. All the low hanging fruit has been picked, and if you do not a good idea of something to sell, and research the competition on Ebay, you will not make any money.
Do not think that I am just shooing away a potential competitor. It is highly unlikely that you will find merchandise to compete with me, or tolerate the slow turns associated with my business

·4 months agoThe failure rate of solo overseas sellers trying to sell new products to America rounds to 100 percent, and this is an even worse time to do it with American buyers having to pay tariffs on incoming foreign purchases.
Here is what you have to deal with. Wherever you live, someone else lives in a place that is even poorer and needs even less money to live on than you do.
Drop shipping doesn't work, you will eventually get banned.
Signing up for services that fulfill your orders for you doesn't work, they make money you don't, as you are competing against thousands of people trying to sell the exact same thing. Some of these companies will even keep taking your money and stop shipping your products, knowing they will be able to do this for at least a month before it blows up.
Most foreign sellers are not actually even selling for themselves, they are working for companies that make them open ebay accounts in their own names so the company never stops getting sales, they just churn through people selling their stuff for them.
If you can't locally source products that are in demand in America and ship them to America yourself then you will fail at ebay, it is only a matter of time.

·4 months agoWouldn't say most, but there are a good number of them depending on the country.

There are sellers in the USA that follow the same program, but are set up correctly as employees listing for them using the employer's account.

·4 months agoI really like the question about choosing products for the "US audience", as if all 341,000,000+ of us are looking for the same things.

There was a guy on this board very recently looking for advice about selling 15,000 phone cases for under 10 cents each. Are you sure that is a good product line to get into?

·4 months agoOh, 15,000 phone cases? It was me.🤣 After hearing the hard truth from the eBay community, which aligned with my own research, I decided to abandon the idea of phone cases. Turns out I couldn't even recycle them because no one would take them, not even for free. So they're going in the trash to make room for anything but cases.

·4 months ago#1 Be honest -
be honest where you are.
be honest where your inventory ships from.
Do NOT drop ship -
Do NOT list or ship "cheep" iPhone counterfeits -
As @pickapaper pointed out, by your questions I also dont think you are in the US.

Your profile says you are in the United States but I get a feeling that you are not.
Where are you really located?
