I'm a seller newbie and my first buyer has disappeared. Problem?
I just made my first sale and after the buyer paid me, I shipped the product. Product is still in-route but the buyer is no longer reachable - their user-id is gone. They weren't a new buyer, around 1.5 years with 5 positive feedbacks. Should I be worried? Why would their user-id be deleted?

·3 years agoYes, I would be worried because any customer can "reverse credit card payment" AFTER they receive your item. You could do a USPS "package intercept" but it will cost you about $15 (and there is no guarantee they will be able to retrieve your package).

OP3 years agoIs there anything I should be doing now with Ebay to be proactive or do I just need to wait and see what happens?

·3 years agoBut the buyer has already paid. On what grounds would you reclaim the item? Guessing that the buyer might do a chargeback seems like a bad reason.

Most likely their ID was deleted is because they may have been previously suspended under another ID. Ebay picked up on it and suspended them.
If I could be suggestive...
You're a new seller and a scam magnet. That may have been this persons intent.
You might consider refraining from using auctions style listings, NO best offers either, because that's also a scam magnet and list all your items at a fixed BUY IT NOW price with immediate payment required checked off. It's the only way to avoid these types. You get more serious buyers and money in your bank account.
One more question? Did the buyer pay you thru ebay or another route? If they didn't pay you thru Ebay you just lost the item and your money. Do as others posted a get USPS to intercept the package.
Good luck and Happy Selling.

Whew! Great! Then it's not a concern. They paid, they'll get the item and that's that.
Congrats on your 1st sale. Happy Selling!!

·3 years agoYou can do a package intercept, at your own expense. I wouldn't.
Once in a blue moon, I have gotten a message from eBay that they have Cancelled The Transaction.
They have always let me keep the money.
Honestly, I Never look at buyer ID's on the Paid and Shipped screen.

·3 years agoIf you can't find their user ID the account was probably closed either by the buyer or eBay. It doesn't really matter because you were paid and the item will be delivered to the buyer since you sent it to their address.

·3 years agoIt sounds like the buyer has been suspended, it could be temporary, or permanent.
If the buyer has paid, and you've shipped the item, there is nothing to worry about at the moment.
