I'm new too selling the customer paid the shipping but it looks like eBay took it from my net proceeds. I don't understand can someone explain. THANKS This is my buyer account.

·5 months agoYes, and ebay does let you use pending funds to pay for the label, so you are not out of pocket for the shipping

Buyer paid you to buy a shipping label ---$5.30
Total paid to you -------$75.30
Ebay then deducted fees and taxes, leaving you with a net of $60.11.
You then used that $5.30 they gave you for shipping and you bought a label, which brought your actual earnings down to $54.81.

·5 months agoThe amount of shipping and the sales the buyer paid is included in the order total.
You then have to pay for the cost of the shipping label, and the amount of the sales tax is deducted, along with the Final Value Fee on the order total.

·5 months agoThe customer pays you for shipping. You then buy the shipping label.
If you do not charge the customer enough for the shipping label, then any difference comes out of the rest of your proceeds. If you charge the customer more than the actual shipping label cost, then you keep any monies leftover. If you offered your buyer "free" shipping, then the entire cost of the shipping label would come from the proceeds from the sell of the item.
You are always responsible for buying the shipping label when sending the buyer their order. You need to make sure you charge them for it, either through the seperate line item or by building it into your item price if you are going to offer "free" shipping.
Remember, eBay charges their variable selling fee and genearl ad fees on the total amount the buyer pays, this includes any shipping costs you charge the buyer along with any taxes. You want to make sure you account for this and your supply costs in your charges.

·5 months agoGood explanation. When I saw that charge of $5.30 for a label, I initially thought that's a lot for a label that you can do yourself for a nickel - I now assume that also includes postage.
