Can anyone tell me how can calculate fees for when putting an item on auction ?
Is that depend on how many days running an auction ?

·3 years agoIt doesn't really matter whether you are using an auction format or a BIN format. The fee's eBay charges are applied to the total selling price of the item (Cost of item + shipping + sales tax + $.30) and the category you are listing in. Review the link that @inhawaii provided
As @soh.maryl mentioned you are in Sri Lanka so there may be other costs that US sellers are not familiar with.

·3 years agoWhen a seller uses the auction format, rather than fixed price, it's hard to calculate what the fees will be because you don't know what the shipping will cost to that particular buyer, and you also cannot calculate what state sales tax that buyer will pay, if any. The final value fee will be based on the item price, the shipping cost and the state sales tax.
Now that I see you are in Sri Lanka, have to add that I am unsure what other fees Sri Lankan sellers might pay, or buyers in other countries other than the US.

·3 years agoThe link provided in the other post goes to the basic Help page about fees for Sellers who don't have a Store. It shows that you get 250 free basic insertions per month. There are additional fees for several optional listing upgrades such as Reserve, subtitle, and for choosing an auction duration of 1 or 3 days. If the item sells, you pay a Final Value Fee which is 30 cents plus a percentage of the buyer's total payment (including selling price, shipping and handling, and sales tax if any).
You are posting on the discussion boards for members in the United States, so these are the fees for users in the United states. They might be different for sellers based in Sri Lanka.
