Getting Started on eBay – Best Practices for New Sellers (UK / Global)
Hello eBay Community,
I am planning to start selling on eBay and would really appreciate guidance from experienced sellers.
I would like to learn about:
Common mistakes new sellers should avoid
Practical product research tips
Best practices for account health and buyer trust
Advice related to shipping, returns, and policy compliance
I believe this discussion can help many new and growing sellers who are serious about doing long-term, genuine business on eBay.
Looking forward to learning from the community.
Thanks in advance.

Since you're registered in Pakistan, it'll be to your benefit to be honest about the location of your items (as well as your country of registration).

·8 months agoThere is already plenty of advice on these forums. Just read the posts.
You seem to have more experience than you are leading us to believe. You have been giving out lots of advice here yourself.

Don't try to start selling on eBay.com if you are not based in the USA.
eBay.com is not eBay Global, it is based in the USA, and it is for targeting buyers in the USA. Right now, it is very difficult and expensive to ship anything from any other country into the USA. If you are starting an ecommerce business at the moment, you need to be targeting buyers somewhere else in the world, not in the USA.
Established sellers who are not in the USA should also be targeting buyers who are not in the USA. The problem of global shipping into the USA is not going to resolve or stabilize anytime soon.
eBay UK would be a good choice if you want to target English-speaking buyers.

Don't list anything you can afford to give away.
Don't dropship from other retail sites.

·8 months agoBest advice I can give....look at your two hands....can those two hands touch & hold the actual items you are listing for sale, and will these items be what will eventually ship? If the answer is no, nothing else will matter as you will fail to launch.
