Dispute result found in buyer favor after he claimed through his bank!
Hello, I am new at eBay as a seller, I sell digital services!
I had a customer after he made the purchase he sent me a message to proceed with his order and all is good, after I have successfully done the service which is cost 270$ for him, I was shocked when I see a dispute as the buyer doesn’t recognize the transaction!
I have sent ther seller a message why you open a dispute? You got your order!
He said “I didn’t opened a disputeâ€!
After all eBay decided the dispute in the buyer favor, I have tried to appeal the case and provided a screenshots between me and the buyer proofing that he do recognize the transaction, but they said that he claimed through his bank or visa card company, and they have nothing to help me with!
They said the only way is to contact the buyer and ask him for re-payment!
This does not make since?! Every one can buy an item worth 1000$ and the claim the transaction with his bank and get a refund after he got the item?!
Where is the seller protection in this situation?
Is there anyway I can get my 270$ back?

Just to be clarified, if the CC owner claimed the transaction through his CC or bank institution, will this open a case automatically on eBay? I mean without opening a case through eBay platform?
For example the buyer paid by a stolen CC, the owner of the CC doesn’t have account on eBay, and he claimed the transaction through his CC or bank institution, will this open a case automatically on the buyer (who used the stolen CC) eBay account?

·2 years agoWhen the buyer files a charge back through their payment source, Ebay isn't involved.
Since you don't have tracking showing the item was shipped to the address the buyer provided at check out, nothing you can do.

That reason "Doesn't recognize the transaction" is supposed to be used when the owner of the credit card doesn't recognize a transaction that was made on your card.
So if the reason was correct, it means that your "buyer" did not have approval to use that credit card. They either stole the card information, or used it for something they did not have authorization to use it for (for example, they used a business card for a non-business expense, and it got caught by the company auditors).
If the purchase had been a tangible/physical/real item, you would have been able to try to fight the dispute by proving that you had delivered the item to the shipping address that was provided with the payment. If you had done that, you should have had a chance to win the dispute.
However because you sold a digital/virtual item, you didn't ship anything, and you don't have any way to defend yourself against this. This is one of the reasons why digital/virtual items are not supposed to be listed or sold on eBay.

·2 years agoNothing you can do. Anyone selling anything using 'electronic' payment are subject to the customer being able to go to their credit card and dispute the payment (even if false because there really is no proof)..
Also note anyone excepting 'credit cards' HAVE to abide by the Credit Card Issuer (Bank) final decision and the 'site' CANNOT fight it (like ebay).
Bottom line- there is NO fighting a 'Chargeback'
Especially with you not shipping anything (you also are supposed to be 'approved' BY eBay to sell 'digital' items).

Do you have any Idea how to become approved digital seller on eBay?
Lets say I became approved to sell digital items by eBay, if the same story happened to me again, will be there more options helping me to win the dispute?!
