Collecting and Selling Vintage American Postage Stamps: Tips and Experiences
Summary: heloves3 discovered an old Martha Washington 1-1/2 cent postage stamp from between 1938 and 1943 and is considering selling it. Initially unsure about its value and the process, they sought advice from others. 12345jamesstamps suggested it might not be worth much, but theteamsetguy encouraged the idea that it could hold value for someone else. kensgiftshop recommended selling it like any other item, emphasizing the need for good photos and descriptions. Despite mixed opinions on its worth, heloves3 decided to proceed with selling the stamp for practice.
I found one old American postage stamp while going through some stuff of my Mother-in-Laws. It is a Martha Washington 1-1/2 cent postage stamp. It has not been cancelled. It is not in excellent condition, but seems to be in good enough shape to sell. I don't work with stamps. I looked this one up and it was printed sometime between 1938 and 1943.
Can I sell this all to itself as I would anything else? Is it expensive to have someone examine it? Can we as sellers talk to each other?
Thanks,
heloves3

What is "really not anything"? Not anything to you might mean the world to someone else.

OP4 days agoI agree with your comment. I am going sell it - at the very least I will gain some much needed practice. Thanks!
