Charging the little guy (new seller) way too much, get this, seller pays tax $10, you pay tax? fees.

I'm selling something at $175 which turned out to be like $10 tax even though buyer has to pay tax not you. They charge you anyways, $10 for more tax. $10 for promotion to get more views. Than $25 more in fees we don't know what it it's for.

Plus I understand that you have to pay shipping. That's $6 more. So all fees, and ridiculous charges included which total up to $51. I literally only made $25. Oh by the way, the shipping charge was fair. But I got lucky, everyone claims you can get a shipping discount on ebay. But that's nearly the same price I was charged to send out my own package directly with USPS (maybe a 0.50 cent discount at the most). I can live with shipping charge because it's required but I'm just making a point here. Just watch these add up and you wouldn't know what ebay charges you.

But also, not really. Since now I have listed another item I wanted to sell. And I set a reserve for bidding. Now they are automatically going to charge you another $10. No real purpose, other than LOTS OF MONEY for ebay at the start before you even sell. Heck, why don't they just include that when you sell? If it doesn't sell, they get a free $10. Are they not making enough money after the $25 fees after you win?

Well, I guess at the end of my day the ROI is like $15. So the little guy has no chance at reselling items. While the power sellers completely crazy and at a higher price. Welcome to ebay. Should I sell locally or obviously raise the price. Seriously, charging me money just to list it, when you are now advertising to list things free. Of course that would be the $1 charge. You are not going to advertise bad news and tell people about these fees? Is there any way to make money in this world that doesn't involve a boring 8 to 5 job? Of course jealous people ( can't be proven of course). Well, dislike people that make easy money on youtube ads. Of course they don't have to pay all these ridiculously charges to get lots of money. They built a system.

When a buyer makes a purchase, he will pay (1) the item price, (2) the shipping fee and (3) the state sales tax, which is calculated on the total of #1 and #2 and is based on the tax rate in his delivery location.

When a seller sells an item, he will pay the final value fee, which is calculated on the item price, the shipping fee and the state sales tax. Again, the seller is NOT charged the state sales tax. The seller does pay the FVF on the state sales tax paid by the buyer.

All of this information is readily available in more than one place for the buyer and/or seller to read. It is not hidden from either the buyer or seller. You chose to promote your item, so it's not a charge that eBay just randomly threw in there.
