Buyer made an offer and requested a video via email
Hi everyone,
I am a new seller on EBay and I just had an offer for £20 when the original item was already listed for £20. Like the idiot I am, I followed the buyers steps and sent them three videos of the item on Gmail. I should have realised this was a scam. The buyers note was that I should send them the item to London, and even provided me with a postcode, but their user location is set in the US and their account was made just three days ago (something I realised after sending them the videos)
I've already gone ahead and sent them the email with the videos and I can't stop stressing out now. What's going to happen next? Will my email get breached?

·8 months agoStop responding. At worse, assuming you stop responding, eBay may give you a warning for trying to take a sale outside of eBay. Ignore any further notice/invoice/paid statement you may receive in an email.
Always check you "my eBay" for sales, never trust email, and never open the emails in regards to eBay. Use them as a notice only to then go to your "my eBay"

·8 months agoCertainly not. They now know your email address, but so does everyone else you've ever written to; that's all.
Just stop responding and add them to your Blocked Buyer List. There is no real sale going to occur here.

·8 months agoIm not sure what "breached" is in email terms but what I expect will happen is the "buyer" will send you an email to your gmail account saying they paid and you can ship.
They may even send you something that shows they paid BUT it wont be from eBay.
Never send any information off eBay. Only use eBay messages.
I would even at this point add them to your BBL.
You have also posted this on eBay.com (US site) so hopefully the policies are the same as the EU site.
