Any help on adding a tracking number manually?
Summary: joeyroland shared difficulties in manually adding a tracking number to their eBay order after selling an item and using an external service for shipping. They encountered error messages despite verifying their entries and reached out for advice. onlinecentral responded, suggesting that if they enrolled correctly in Pirate Ship, the tracking should automatically upload to eBay, making manual entry unnecessary. They also provided links to specific eBay order management screens to help locate the transaction and tracking details.
Hello,
I recently sold my first item on ebay in like 15+ years. Things have definitely changed. But fine. I see now they hold payment until delivery and part of me kind of likes that. Sort of. At any rate, I sold an item and offered free shipping. I used Pirate Ship to pay for a USPS flat rate box and dropped it off today. USPS already shows the tracking number. But after FINALLY figuring out how to add a tracking number manually, I keep getting "Something went wrong. Please try again later." when I choose the "Save" option. Verified the value and all. After using search, I find the Seller's Hub. When I go to the item and select the option to "Add Tracking Number", I get a pop-up with "The selected order(s) aren't eligible for this action".
I messaged the buyer directly just out of courtesy, but now I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing and, most importantly, how I can get paid. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

·2 weeks agoIf you properly and correctly enrolled in Pirate Ship, meaning you entered your eBay account, they would have uploaded the tracking into eBay for you. If that is the case, your attempts to upload the same number again are unneccessary and getting rejected.
If you see the transaction on this screen, you need to enter the tracking number by clicking on Add Tracking.

If you don't see the transaction there, then go to this screen. You should see the tracking number.

OP2 weeks agoThank you for the advice! I had no idea Pirate Ship incorporated ebay, but I guess that makes sense. And unfortunately, when I choose the item "Awaiting Shipment" section and go to add the tracking number, I receive that "The selected order(s) aren't eligible for this action".
When I originally sold on ebay - eons ago - there was none of this available. I like and hate it now. I'm just trying to list several items I've had laying around and figured it was as simple as sell, print, ship - but without the need to link everything. I can see the obvious upside, but the fact I can't manually add a tracking number? I mean, couldn't the seller claim no receipt and defeat the whole point of selling?
