Account restricted after first listing – unable to reach support
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can guide me.
My seller account was restricted right after I listed my first item. eBay asked me to request a call for verification, so I used the “have us call you” option multiple times, but I never received any calls.
I also tried calling eBay support directly at [Removed by mod], but the system keeps telling me to call back during business hours, even when I’m calling within normal hours.
I’m a new seller and just trying to get started, so this has been pretty frustrating. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to actually get through to a real person?
Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks!

If the restriction notice is actually from ebay (and is in your messages in your account), the reason they need that information for legal reasons.
You're a new/infrequent seller with a fairly pricey item and they need to verify that you are who you say you are. They need to know that if you sell that $315 item, you'll send it and should the buyer need to return it for a refund, you'll have a bank account from which to issue a refund.
The restriction notice doesn't prohibit you from doing business. It's just to keep you honest and something that has been done for every seller on the site. However if you don't provide the info they need, the restriction will turn into a suspension.

·4 months agoHow is your account restricted? Unless you are using someone else's account to ask, you have an item listed and sold an item 6 months or more ago.
Are you sure the message was from eBay? Did you receive it in your eBay messages or as an email?

·4 months agoDo not call that number any more, it is not eBay. Also, a CS return phone call will provide no useful info other than to say "your account is suspended" They don't know why. Your best source of information is in the email ebay sent you

·4 months agoEBAY does NOT have a phone number to call. Only phone numbers available are scammers and NOT Ebay.
The reason you cannot receive "call back" from EBAY is because your cellphone is blocked "unknown callers" (I had the same problem). Go to settings on your phone to change to allow "unknown callers" and that will solve your callback problem.
After you changed your phone settings, go to HELP and select REQUEST CALLBACK.

·4 months agoI am not convinced that it is not a legit phone number. Just for fun, I called it. They asked for my ZIP Code, and I entered the wrong one – on purpose. They couldn’t find my account. I did a ZIP Code that is in an adjacent suburb. I called back and provided my actual ZIP Code – they found my account. Now, I wouldn’t give out any potentially damaging information over the phone – but I thought it’d interesting that they knew by my phone number, which is associated with my eBay accounts, that I didn’t have the right ZIP Code on the first call. There have been a few experience, sellers that have sworn that there is an eBay number to call. Personally, I would avoid the number – but it doesn’t mean that it is a scam. Just means that I’m using an over abundance of caution.

·4 months agoIf you're not getting the call from eBay, it's usually because your phone is set to block calls from unknown callers. That option will be in your phone settings, though the exact location depends on the phone of course.
eBay would have sent you a message explaining the reason your account was restricted. Usually if it's right after setting up a listing, it's just due to something in your account details needing to be verified or entered, but sometimes your account could be associated with another suspended account or something like that. That message should give you at least some guidance (and it might have been forwarded to your email as well).
