·10 months agoHere is a very likely scenario of what will happen....you are selling a "rare" coin, unauthenticated, not graded and not sealed. You are new..someone will purchase your coin, your money will be held for 30+ days, you buy added insurance on the item when you ship & signature confirmation. After the buyer received the coin, they will file a INAD for full refund. You will fund the refund from your pocket, not eBay nor from the proceeds as the haven't been released to you. eBay will force the refund, you have no say against ebay's MBG. The "buyer" will return to you a regular quarter. eBay will not help you. You will be out the money, the coin and your savings. This is what no one wants to see happen

OP10 months agoWowww that so petty, how does eBay allow this to happen, or they have no control of it, these scammers need to get a real hard working job and know what it’s like to earn money

·10 months agoEbay has no idea who is telling the truth, they never see the items...just as often the seller ships a fake coin. eBay has to side one way or the other, sellers are not at the top of the totem pole. Buyer can even use the power of their payment source to file a charge back. This, too is a reason I think if you sold the coins, your money might just be frozen for 6 months to cover any potential charge backs. This was really what @soh.marly was trying to point out in her post, so much to know and so much can go south real fast
Personally, I would never buy or sell a coin of value on ebay. Which is why I mentioned earlier to take it to a dealer or an auction house. But you do need to get it graded and authenticated by a third party & sealed, otherwise you have only a quarter

·10 months agoI'd take these to a local dealer to sell, or find out if you have any local auction houses that deal in coin auctions. Big risk selling them on eBay, for all involved. I know with dealers you will be lucky to get half the value at best, but in the end, you'll come out ahead.

You have two coins listed, both at auction and both starting at 50c. Assuming that you even get a bid on these, if you only get one bid on either, the coins will sell for the 50c. By the time you pay eBay fees, you aren't going to make much money. Plus, if you send these in a regular envelope without tracking and the buyer claims non-receipt, you will have to refund.
I don't know how many coins you have to list but if they are similar to what you listed, auction isn't the way to go. You would be better deciding on a price you want and listing them as "buy it now". Auctions only work nowadays for unique, highly collectable or highly in demand items.
eBay has a lot of rules and policies for sellers. You might want to familiarize yourself with some of these so you will know more what is going on. One of the most important is eBay's Money Back Guarantee.
I'm not trying to dissuade you from selling on eBay but have you talked to coin dealers in your area to see how much they would give you for your coins? It looks like you have some knowledge so you should have an idea of how much they are worth. It might be easier to sell them locally.

·10 months agoeBay has loads and loads of information for new sellers. ALL new sellers need to read it BEFORE beginning to sell here. This isn't CL or FB Marketplace. You really need to understand the fees. And the Money Back Guarantee for buyers as well.

OP11 months agoYes I have done some research on them pretty **bleep** interesting coins there from somewhere 2500-5000us, lol my father knew what he was doing and saving but there so much more then these two coins, one big bucket of them he passed Dec11,2023 rite before Christmas smh and now I just realized he’s gone and in a better place just like these coins gotta go

OP11 months agoSure he passed away 2023 so it took me a while Vietnam Veteran and am just finally getting around to his personal items and yes siblings one brother I am the oldest feel free to comment on the coins more rather than focusing on my father show a little more respect, keep it professional
